#114 what a year...

What a year...

I really can't place my hand on the most spectacular event on 2022 but if there is one thing I know it is the fact that it is a year I would never forget.

Although lots of great stuffs happened but I can't say which is the best or the worst...

Started off the year with a great shock from the ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF UNIVERSITIES (ASUU) and the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT here in Nigeria my great country.. I'm sure by now my indigenous readers would have a smile on their faces since they know the full story 😂.

Well, for those who are completely oblivious. Thess two great bodies had a fight over unfulfilled promises from February - October and consequently we the students under the federal tertiary institutes have to stay back at home... well going fully into it would actually paint my story opposite of what I want it to be because to me this was really a great opportunity although some might say otherwise.

But the good thing about this is that, this is the year I actually found myself. I know you might be asking if I was lost before. My dear I wasn't, it's just that I was able to take some certain decisions I have always been afraid to take before now and this decisions I believe took me out from being a little mummy's girl to a lady I have always wanted to be and this decisions include.

First, in January this year I found the courage to leave home and work to earn my own money ... Lol (😂) it might actually sound like nothing to you but, it has always been my dream to stop living off my family. So, this year with the help of a friend I got a job in January and then school was not on section. I had to inform my parents that I need to go back to school earlier because I got a job.

Wow! You can imagine how long it took me and the amount of courage I had to use in doing that because I have always been the home girl. Well, the good news is I did and they accepted and for the first time I started working, thinking about my feeding, transportation and other stuffs.
If I say it was easy just know I am a big liar 😂.. I'm not saying I'm fully independent but at least I hope to be soonest but at least I am about 60% and you don't know how happy this makes me.

Another great achievement which I also made this year that really contributed to getting to finding myself thing was joining Hive .... Mmhh, my dear this was really a great achievement, my brother @ernesto6402 first informed me about hive earlier this year but I finally joined some time middle of this year and you won't believe how happy I have been, writing on this great platform since then.

And also this year I really worked so much on my writing, I really improved tremendously on it I finally realized I'm good at something and this really went a long way in pulling me out from the shy girl with a very low self esteem into still a shy girl but with a better esteem. Well I don't know about others but personally I'm really grateful about this year because it has really been favourable

One more thing that really gives me joy this year is the fact that I was never a hospital patient for a day ... For some years due to some health issues I have always been on admission in the hospital but this year I never experienced it. This alone is enough to make me tag this year the best year of my life 🥺🥺

And I really made wonderful friends this year.. friends that have really contributed alot in my life 😍

Now assuming school was on section I might not have the time to achieve most of the things I achieved this year because of school stress. Now do you see why I said the issue between ASUU and the federal government which resulted to a strike that kept me at home was a great opportunity.

It's not possible for a year to go by without pain and sadness 😔 but the most painful thing I experienced this year was the lost of my phone.. you needed to see my crying like a baby 😂.

But the pains are not enough to overshadow the happiness and finally all I can say is ...

Actually, circumstances which we may count to be disappointing can some times turn out to be blessings for us. Indeed the strike initially seemed like a bad thing but at the long run it was a blessing as I also utilized it for some goodies. I am glad you have had a balanced experience of the year. That is life for you my dear and it is often better that way than always on the rosy side. Have a blissful celebration of the new year dear @eugenia7499
