Hawuk-hawuk, is a traditional Indonesian snack made from grated coconut and glutinous rice flour.
Rainy weather usually often makes the stomach easily hungry and want to eat something. Likewise this afternoon. It has been raining and windy in Taiwan for several days, as well as the still bad condition of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fell Hungry and want to eat something, but reluctant to go out for fear of contagion. Using the available ingredients, I made Hawuk-hawuk, a traditional Indonesian snack made from grated coconut and glutinous rice flour.
Incidentally, all the ingredients are readily available at home, so let's follow my journey of cooking putu ayu cake.
Materials needed
• 150 grams of grated coconut
• 60 grams of glutinous rice flour
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 50 grams of palm sugar
• 300 ml coconut milk
Step Cooked!!!
Step 1: Mix Glotinous rice and Coconut Grated together
Step 2: Slice palm sugar for topping
Step 3: Put inside molding, add palm sugar for topping
Step 4: Steamed it for 15 minutes
Cooking steps
• Prepare a container, mix the glutinous rice flour and grated coconut, add salt and vainili. Stir well until the texture becomes crumbly (Do not press)
• Prepare the cake tray, enter the dough until it is full (don't press it).
• Enter the brown sugar slices on top, then press as before
• Heat the steamer until the water boils
• Steam the cucur cake for 15 minutes, using medium heat so that it cooks evenly
• Once cooked, remove to cool
• Remove from the mold and ready to serve
Taraaa the cake ready to served
The Tasted of Cakes
The cake made from glutinous rice flour and grated coconut has a savory and delicious taste, plus it is sweet with a topping of palm sugar on top. When still warm, palm sugar melts in the mouth, like chocolate, making the taste even more delicious.
This cake can be used as an afternoon snack. Making your own food is certainly healthier to consume.
