#35: Handling Our Sad Moments
Hello everyone,
Just like we are different in nature, upbringing and beliefs
the management of happiness and sadness in people is different, and this should be understood and accepted because everyone is different. We just have to have this at the back of our minds that life contains worry as well as pleasure. There are people who freely discuss their problem and never hide anything which should not be that bad but there are some individuals who never tell anyone about their problems and this sometimes is very disastrous. Though the society has made it looks like sharing our problems is a bad thing because people will use it against or turn it to a gossip.
Everyone has to determine what is appropriate for them once they are feeling unhappy in order to get back to being happy. Some use alcohol or smoking, while some will request friends for assistance or do things that make them feel better. On the social level for me it usually includes making sure to call or text my friend to check on them if I see that they are upset, as I think that people should help each other out.
If I get a chance to have the blues or feel depressed, I force myself to get out and do something that will make me happy. Although, I personally may isolate myself at such times, I have friends with whom I can share my feeling and guide me through them. I always try to avoid sad feelings, and dating and talking with friends help me avoid those states.
Therefore, sadness is but a part of living and though we cannot choose when to get attacked by sadness, we are able to prevent and cure the effects by turning to friends and family and doing things that make us happy. The most important thing seems to determine what can help each person cope with the feeling of sad… with the desire to find happiness again.
