The Long-Awaited! Dr. Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

I have been waiting forever to stream this movie because I didn't have time to go to the theaters to see the movie. Over the weekend I was able to stream the movie and it was a thrilling experience for me. The movie now has become the biggest release of MCU in 2022. The movie didn't disappoint but it took another plot twist which I wasn't expecting.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of madness is a movie that was released into the theaters on the 2nd May 2022 with Walt Disney and Motion pictures as its distributors. The movie is based on Marvel comic characters and an American superhero movie. It is a sequel to Doctor Strange(2016) with Benedict Cumberbatch as the star actor alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez, and other notable actors. This particular sequel has been long-awaited by many viewers and fans of the series, and I can say that the long wait was worth it.

The movie was directed by Sam Raimi and written by Michael Waldron. These two men are amazing because of the work they put into making this movie. They both did a great job with the plot, setting, and arrangement of scenes. Even though Sam and Waldron were not the ones who directed the first sequel of Doctor Strange, they made this sequel dynamic with the element of horror added to the movie genre. So it is not only a superhero movie but a movie with both Horror and thriller.

Little Synopsis Of The Movie

The plot of the movie revolves around America Chavez (Gomez), Doctor Strange, Wong, and Wanda. Though I feel you have watched the WandaVision TV series because it might take you a few minutes to understand the movie from the beginning. The TV series explained how Wanda became the villain and why.

The movie started with America, a teenage girl who can travel through the Multiverse by opening portals of her wish but at the beginning, she didn't have control of her powers as she just discovered who she is. America is being chased by demons with a version of Dr. Strange (everyone had their version on different planets across the Multiverse except for America) in a space in the universe. The Demon caught up with them and America accidentally opened a portal to our earth (616) as she transports herself and the dead Dr stranger.

Earth's 616 Dr. Strange and Wong help America defeat the Demon that was after her and save her. On the Demon's skin, were runes of witchcraft so Strange went to seek help from Wanda being a witch but it was in vain as He realized that Wanda was behind the attack and wanted the girl's power for herself. Wanda told Strange to surrender America to her with ease or she takes her by force. Strange didn't fall for Wanda's threat until many sorcerers' lives were lost.

Wanda was blinded by grief, loss, bitterness, and above all, the evil power from the Grimoire of Vishanti (darkhold). Wanda wanted to reconnect back with her two kids; she made it from the Westview in WandaVision without thinking about the consequences of her actions. The question is did Wanda succeed in her conquest? Did Strange stop her from taking America's power? Watch the movie to know. ☺️

My Opinion About The Movie

It is nice to see a hero turn into a villain and it was depicted properly. I can understand why Wanda turned into a villain because, since the beginning of time, Wanda first knew what loss was when she lost her twin brother during their first battle together with the avengers, then she lost her lover (Vision) during Thanos' war on earth. It didn't stop there but lost a possible happy future with her children. All those pain, grief, and loss made her turn to the darkhold to get what she wanted, but everything was at the cost of many lives and her conscience. She became something different and evil.

Wanda's villain part was well portrayed and I enjoyed her performance. From the look of things, we were made to understand more things about her, her powers, nature, and origin. Many questions viewers had about Wanda being the scarlet witch were answered in this movie. I see Wanda as a walking Infinity Gauntlet (all the infinity stones combined) and the strongest Avenger.

Then, the CGI and visual effects of this movie were mesmerizing as the viewers uncovered the plot story with the journey of the heroes across the Multiverse. The praise for this part goes to Sam (director). How he arranged every scene in the movie was intense and thrilling. Also, in the end, he left us with a potential possibility of an upcoming thrilling sequel. I am already anxious about it.

Sam also did a fantastic job with the creature designs as they were gruesome and memorable which is where the horror genre comes in. Also, some sci-fi, action, adventure, and humor were added to the movie plot. With all these genres, Sam found a way to balance every one of these genre into perfect proportions to give the movie a unique outlook and signature. I guess Sam Raimi's sabbatical leave from directing movies was just what he needed to have which made him come back with a thrilling work for his viewers. Honestly, I am impressed with this movie and I hope Sam gets to direct the upcoming sequel too.

Rating this movie, I would give 4.5 stars, CGI, 4 stars, characters' performance 4 stars, setting of the movie 4 stars, and finally the plot 4 stars. If I were to recommend this movie, I would recommend it to superhero, action, adventure, sci-fi, and horror film lovers.
