My medicinal plants

First, a greeting to all the people who make life in the community and to @nony, @latita and @yirciahr for suggesting me to publish in this community when they saw my crops and the love I feel for plants.

Without further explanation, here is my first post and, I hope you like it.

I have always loved plants and, in every home I have lived in, I have tried to have some with me. I do this because they transmit me a lot of peace, I like the aroma they give off and, as I learned about their properties, my love for them grew.

Now that I am retired, plants are an important part of my life and company, because, together with my husband, they fill my days with challenges and joys.

On the terrace, on the porch and in every free space I have I try to plant one or, in this case, I collect them in pots because I live in the center of the city and I do not have enough space to have large plants or several species.

However, this has not been an obstacle, to have at home several types of plants that I have classified, according to their varieties and utilities. On the one hand, I have cactus, which is what I have more variety and what best suits me to the way I grow and collect them. I also have flowers. They are not roses, but I can assure you that they are of infinite beauty, at least for me.

I also have medicinal plants, which is what I want to talk about today and which are so important in my life and in my family economy for all that they bring me and for the money that I often save looking for medicines.

This type of vegetation is very important, above all, for its contributions to health and its healing properties. Another important element is that their side effects are very low and, given the shortages we have in the country with conventional medicines, they become an essential element for health.

Among the medicinal plants that I have on my terrace are mint, aloe, oregano, meprobamato, Tuna, among others.

In addition to the above, many times I can substitute some of these plants for a medicine that is not available in pharmacies or because their properties are harmful to my health. For example, I cannot take Ibuprofen because it raises my blood pressure and I am hypertensive.

In that case, I make an infusion of one of the plants that fulfill the same function and avoid major health problems.

Another of the plants that I use is aloe vera or aloe that I use for my gastritis and it is an excellent natural supplement that, in addition to this, has several uses for health.

It is important to clarify that, despite the nobility of these plants, it is important to know how to use them, to avoid side effects.

Another significant element is to know how to take care of them because there are some that need more water than others, prune them, transplant children and give them all kinds of attention so that they do not wither or die.

This is part of my world and, at this stage of my life, these plants play an important role because they help me to live and move forward.
