A little tour of the Cinex in my city [En|Es]

Last month I attended a skincare conference in one of the movie theatres in the Costa Mall, which is just a few minutes from my house. We were supposed to arrive before 1pm, which was when the lecture was due to start, but we had to wait longer than usual and there wasn't much to do during that time.

I arrived a bit earlier and spent about an hour waiting. Fortunately there was an area in the cinema that was the food fair, where I could sit and wait for the time to be up and in that time, I had the idea to take a little tour of the facilities.

This is a fairly large area but there is not a lot of movement of people, plus everything is metres away, so you have to walk a long way to get from one thing to another. Just behind where I was sitting there was a yellow wall that said "Cinex parte la torta", I don't know if they celebrate birthdays here or if it was the decoration for a particular celebration. In the centre there was a space for someone to stand with a cake and have their picture taken.

There were several pillars with movie posters on them. Some of them were really old like these "the hoop" and "the orphan", super old movies, so much so that the posters were discoloured. This cinema wasn't working at the time these films were released, so I guess it's the props that the company has left and they just use them as a setting for their new cinemas.

In the centre there is an island where they sell food combos, drinks and sweets. The prices here are usually up to twice as expensive as what you get outside the cinema. They take advantage of their policy of "you can't enter with food and drinks bought outside the cinema", so that you have to buy at high prices. Because the good thing about going to the cinema is to watch your movie while eating, even if it's just popcorn.

In general it's a nice atmosphere, a bit dark, but that's because it's a cinema. The air conditioning works perfectly and the best thing is that there is free Wifi, so that your wait is pleasant and you can share your experiences on the site.

It was a very entertaining and productive wait.

El mes pasado asistí a una conferencia de skincare en una de las salas de cine del centro comercial Costa Mall, que queda a unos minutos de mi casa. Nos tocaba llegar antes de la 1 de la tarde, que era cuando se le daría inicio a la charla, pero nos tocó esperar más de la cuenta y durante ese tiempo no es que hubiera mucho que hacer.

Yo llegué un poco más temprano y estuve alrededor de una hora esperando. Afortunadamente en el cine había un área que era la feria de comida, donde podía esperar sentada a que se hiciera la hora y en ese tiempo, se me ocurrió dar un pequeño recorrido a las instalaciones.

Esta es una zona bastante amplia pero se ve que no hay mucho movimiento de personas, además todo queda a metros de distancia, por lo que hay que caminar bastante para llegar de una cosa a otra. Justo detras de donde yo estaba sentaba se encontraa una pared de color amarillo que decia "Cinex parte la torta", no se si es que acá se celebran cumpleaños o era la decoración para alguna celebración en particular. En el centro tiene un espacio como para que alguien se coloque con un pastel y se tome una foto.

Habían varios pilares y en ellos habían carteles de películas. Algunos eran realmente viejos como estos de "el aro" y "la huerfana", son películas súper viejas, tanto que los carteles estaban decolorados. Este cine no funcionaba en el tiempo que estas peliculas estrenaron, así que supongo que es esa utilería que les queda a la empresa y que usan simplemente de ambientación para sus nuevas salas de cine.

En el centro hay una isla en donde venden los combos de comida, bebidas y chucherías. Los precios es esta sueles ser hasta el doble de caros que lo que consigues fuera del cine. Ellos se aprovechan de su política de "no se puede entrar con comidas y bebidas compradas fuera de las instalaciones del cine", para que si o si debas comprar a precios elevados. Porque lo bueno de ir al cine es ver tu película comiendo así sea solo cotufas (palomitas de maíz).

En general es un ambiente agradable, un tanto oscuro, pero es por ser un cine. El aire acondicionado funciona a la perfección y lo mejor es que hay Wifi gratis, como para que tu espera sea agradable y puedas compartir tus experiencias en el sitio.

Fue una espera bastante entretenida y productiva.
