"The self" pictorial series

Hello everyone! I'm back, I've been absent from the Hive community for a few months due to my university studies that have become more demanding. I'm from Venezuela, I'm a thesis student of Visual Arts at the Universidad de los Andes (ULA) and I'm back to share more of my work with you.

On this occasion I have brought a handmade painting, part of a series of pictorial proposals, product of the reflection generated from an investigation that revolves around the human mind, consciousness, the unconscious, both individual and collective, as well as issues related to the conditions and different states of the psyche.

The self represents the energetic nucleus of the totality of the psyche, around which the different parts of the mind and the personality are structured, at a conscious and unconscious level. It is probable that to a greater or lesser extent the ego complex (the ego) is closest to this nucleus of psychic energy, and therefore the totality of the mind and individuality is created. In fact a poorly educated and immature ego will do everything possible to cling to the idea that it is all that exists in relation to the psychic world and sometimes even to the physical world, when this only represents a part of the totality of what we are.

The technique used for this painting is mixed media, it is acrylic paint on previously cured bristol board. I have also used watercolor and pencil.

It is important to embark on a journey into the unknown within ourselves in order to experience that we are not our own problems or joys but what feeds the totality of our experiences and that it is our attention and internal preconfiguration that determines the valuation of any given experience.
