Society Feeds on Your Empathy

Today an interesting thing happened. One group was in search of someone for donation. I came out to help. First they wante something little then they wanted me to increase the amount. And then keep on increasing the donation amount and efforts.

I first decided to play along. Then they keep on increasing the demands for helping this and that. And kind of made me do their work. It seems like these days non profits have their own agenda.

What do you learn from this?

Lesson 1: If they want something little, they will increase the demand

Ofcourse not all are like this but think about it. Someone with non profit charity house experience, they ask one dollar and then they demand 10 dollar and they would slowly increase the amount as you start to give them ..in short it goes to the 100 dollars.

In this case the lesson is if you give them an inch they would take foot and longer. So that would tell you that sometimes you have to learn to set the boundaries.

Lesson 2: If they show the shine in eyes of greed, you're game

Most of the people are going to be showing some greed when they beg or need someone's help. When the animal is in pain and asks for help they don't have shine of greed. They have pain and desperation.

This shows you that the shine the people have on their eyes. If you see that in the society or anyone who is asking for donation or begging for something. You can realize that they are out to get your money.

Conclusion

Some of the time you have to learn to read people. And also as you read the people you would learn to move ahead in terms of the managing your own empathy and emotions.

If you don't then society would feed off you.
