Cost of Maintaining Things We Need!

I remember buying the laptop recently. And for that I am paying the monthly EMI or you can say the installment. It is an expensive laptop that has decent AI chip and all those GPU things that would power things up for the AI and other new features of the market.

Now I looked at the Mac Mini, which is now cheaper and has same price as the price paid by me for the laptop. Another thing is that Mini is being costed less and it has less moving parts and less chances for the damages. Which makes it a good purchase.

Let's talk about cost of maintaining things we have around.

Take an example of the gaming laptops. Say you buy MSI and maybe even ASUS. And when those laptops complete their 1 year you may find that you are struggling for the extended warranty and also the issues related to the servicing. Like some parts are being serviced or something you would not be getting them easily. And those parts cost a lot and makes you store your laptop to the service center for days.

This has been the case with apple too. However you have one stop shop for apple and also the work assurance is there. But if you use mac mini or the mac studio, you tend to have a portable desktop. And this makes it easier for you to hold them and use them in places you please. And they can last longer than the laptops that you wish to purchase. In short it just works out for your servicing.

Most of the Windows computers, laptops and the system tend to behave worst over a period of time. And you need to change that part if you wish to bring some value out of the purchase that you made. All of the costs that you put on the Windows laptops tend to add up and which is what we need to maintain and adjust as well. So we have to think over those things.

My learning so far from this is that find out the cost of maintaining whatever you buy and make sure to not buy something cheap and then pay enough to keep on maintaining it.
