A veces es un final, a veces un nuevo comienzo, a veces te quita la vida, a veces te la cambia ✨ / Sometimes it is an ending, sometimes a new beginning, sometimes it takes your life, sometimes it changes it.
We live in a continuous procrastination of tasks and plans because we think that tomorrow is assured, we feel so sure that we will be alive in a few minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years, that we become compulsive procrastinators, but the truth is that tomorrow and the future are very uncertain and we do not know if we will be or not.
Today I am very shocked because I have started to reflect on this subject, definitely we are the writers of our destiny, nothing by chance everything is a cause of something, however there is one thing in life that comes suddenly and it is death; when it comes, it comes, and there is nothing you can do to get rid of it. Not even moving heaven and earth can make any action that can alter something that is already written in the book of life, it is part of the way and can not be changed, it hurts and hits a lot when it happens suddenly and more when accompanied by a tragic event, but that marks the end of a path that could or could not take advantage of as much as possible.
I am writing this post because since last week I have seen something that has had a great impact on me, sometimes life gives us a second chance to come to our senses and to know where we really are and what is truly valuable. On Friday there were two accidents going down from Caracas to La Guaira, one of them was in an area called 10 de marzo, a truck took five cars leaving them destroyed, there were serious injuries but so far there have been no reports of any deaths, I did not witness it but I saw video of everything, it was very ugly, for a moment I imagined myself being one of those affected and the truth made my hair stand on end, people that surely most of them were going to the beach to enjoy themselves, ended up living a horror story from one moment to the next.
In the afternoon when I was coming down from work we were suddenly caught in an annoying queue, when we were going through one of the viaducts we were all surprised on the bus. Two trucks going in the opposite direction crashed head on and took out a light pole in the middle. Both vehicles were left with their front ends destroyed, while the crew members were left in very bad conditions. Some of them were lying on the ground with torn and bloody clothes, another of them, a fairly old person, was on a sidewalk being attended by a paramedic, you could see how blood was dripping from his head; there was one that shocked me a lot and he was sitting on the ground with his leg bent, I had only seen that on videos, not in person, I was very impressed.
As I mentioned above, everyone on the bus was impressed, and when the bus moved forward there was total silence, I imagine that more than one person thought the same as me "they were born again", fortunately the losses were only material, but they were saved by a miracle.
Today when we arrived at Guaira we found a long queue, they had closed the main avenue and everything collapsed. When we were advancing little by little we realized that a bus had crashed against a footbridge and knocked it down, the crazy thing was the position and what had to happen for that to happen, we could not explain it. The truth is that it must have been something quite desperate because it was on the main avenue, the concurrence of cars is huge because it is practically at the entrance of La Guaira. Fortunately there was no human loss, we can't explain how.
Then while I was going up to the house I started to reflect on this, life can be gone in a matter of seconds and we believe that it is a sure thing. Although there were no deaths in these accidents, I know of many where there have been many human losses. At least a few years ago a footbridge fell on a van that was carrying 6 people, among them 3 children, all of them were going to the beach to enjoy themselves but they never arrived...
It's hard to see this kind of thing and not be left thinking "I could have been there ". Day by day we are exposed to something like this happening, an accident that could take our lives or cause us to be born again, and yet we are so incredulous in believing that tomorrow is safe.
No sabemos.
It may sound a bit cliché, but that "live as if it were the last day, love as if there were no tomorrow, forgive, smile, eat well, do not leave for tomorrow what you can do" becomes very relevant when we witness something as ugly as this, literally from one moment to the next, in a matter of microseconds life can change or lose it. So friends, there is no time for tomorrow because we don't know if it will come, the best things in life are the simplest and we should pay more attention. Let's love, let's embrace our loved ones, let's eat that tunjuta we want, get the makeover you want, go to the beach, to the mountains, wherever you want, but live, let's live that today we are, but tomorrow? We do not know.
