Something You've Never Seen
Today I'm back with some amazing paintings you may have never seen. I posted the first part of the exhibition this week already, but if you missed it, you can check it out here.
As I always say, when you go to an exhibition, you never know what you get, which is the good part, because everything you see comes as a surprise. That surprise can be good, bad, or neutral. This was a solo exhibition of Vera Dan and left me speechless the minute I entered the gallery. The funny thing is, if someone asks me what's my favorite style when it comes to paintings, my answer is I don't know, but when I see the exhibition, I can tell you from the first minute, if I like it or not.
Cherry On The Cake
A wonderful painting with a strange title. When I first looked at it, I thought the title would be Still Life but was wrong. But even if it would have been still life, it is a very unusual. Nevertheless, I love it. After all, art is not about creating something usual, on the contrary. The colors are perfect in my opinion and the fact that the items on the painting are so different from each other, is definitely a plus, it makes it more unique.
A glimpse into what you're going to see.
Eliza And Franki
This was a bit of a surprise. I love how Eliza is sitting there, looking at the snail and thinking, but the snail loos way bigger than we have here. Obviously there are bigger species, but I don't know if the ratio is real or an exaggeration of the artist. I love the light purple dress and the brown background, it's a perfect match in my eyes.
At The Crossing
This was a funny one and it actually made me smile for the obvious reason. Snails are known to be very slow, so a snail crossing must be a nightmare. Also, what you see here are two things that are repetitive on the paintings. One you already know, the other one you can guess. However, I love the sneakers and the jeans, breaking the mustard yellow with blue was a very good idea.
Vintage With Forget-me-not
This painting is so pleasant to look at, mostly because of the colors, but because of those two beauties, cuties sitting on the top of the brick. The blue of the flowers, the green and the color of the brick is just a perfect match in my eyes. I could make a nice print for a shirt or blouse, using pieces of the painting. This is obviously fantasy or more like a dream as I would never do it.
Dandelions
Another lovely one for several reasons. You could see two paintings with dandelions in my previous post I mentioned above. The little blue forget-me-not flowers and the brick were present in the painting above. Overall I love how the painting looks, bu can't read it. The bottom half looks like a reflection in a puddle, but it's not the exact copy of the upper half. I love it though.
Forbidden Fruit
I love this too :) I know, I sound like a broken record, but it's just lovely. You can notice the jeans and the sneakers again. I'd say it's a still life, but don't know if it fits the criteria. That single green apple in the hand of the person was a brilliant idea.
The Noble Onion
When i got in front of this painting, I had the impression that I've seen it before. Or maybe it was a similar one, I can't be sure. I love this too :)). Usually onions don't get much attention in art as painters prefer fruits of flowers, but here the onions look great. I love the legs without body or face and the colors as well. I'm not sure if I would hang this canvas on my wall, maybe in the kitchen, but it looks nice and it was a very good idea in my opinion. Unique as well. Jeans and sneakers again, please note :)
Composition With Candy Box
This was a bit strange and I'm not sure I see things clearly. That candy holder is made of porcelain as far as I can see, yet it is sitting on a water pipe, if I can see it correctly. There's a facet,a towel hanging on there, and the plug. Now is this scene in the kitchen? I suppose so as you don't bring the candy holder in the bathroom, I think. Really strange, but the execution is perfect.
This is a special kind of art I've never seen before, it's strange too to some degree, but I love it. I don't know about you, but I'd love to find out what you think of these paintings, which one is your favorite or why. So don't be shy, drop me a comment.

These paintings look so good, and I do agree on the first one, beauty, and the weirdness of the name. Each painting as their story to tell.
On the snail, we have bigger snails here.
Someone told me there are big snails in Africa, but I haven't see those in real life. I hope it stays that way as it would freak me out :)
You interpreted all the art nicely. I have always wondered what always flows in the mind of an artist before they paint and I am guessing this this artist is a sneakers lover 😁.
I'm not sure if I interpret the art, I just share what I see and think. The artist may think differently, but after all, art is about what it mans to you.
And yes, the artist might like sneakers, but it's not a bad thing.
👍
Hi dear friend, @erikah I love the work Of art with dandelion because it represents happiness, reward and harmony among other attributes. It also symbolizes survival and personal satisfaction. A European Norse legend tells that dandelion flowers are actually fairies in disguise, in my garden I'm harvesting them, it's spring in my country, no easy to grow friend. i hold you tight 💋 in the distance
You're the second with the dandelion my dear friend and it's a nice choice.
This is a surprise to me as I didn't know, so thanks for letting me know. I've learnt something today :)
Sending you hugs and wishing you lovely Easter.
Happy easter time My dear @erikah
Thank you 😊 🐰🥚
Happy easter
I love the style and colors of this painter. Its interesting that there always seems to be something surprising or a little out of place. Like the oversized snail or the odd collection of items in Cherry on the Cake - cherries, onion, grater, pocket watch... I think my favorite is the Dandelions. Because I can tell a story about it I like ... the trowel is trying to cover up the dandelions that are invading the urban area. Covering nature with a layer of cement. The dandelions refuse to surrender.
Oh I hadn't thought about The Dandelions that way. Now when I go back and look again, it's all I can see..good insight!
My thoughts exactly, but I didn't mention it in the post. There's one element or two that is not quite right, but it's not wrong either. Also, interesting what you say about the dandelion.
This exhibit was very thought-provoking. I do love the mustard/blue combination that is present in all of these works, in greater or lesser amounts. I also love the aspect of mystery in the paintings that don't show faces....and what is the second person doing in the second to last panting, The Noble Onion? Standing? Sitting? Teaching or helping? So many questions! I love them all.
Not only this, for me, each one is thought-provoking 😄
Yes, showing just the feet is an interesting approach, but I like it.
I love them all too and I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Another charming exhibition of art @erikah friend... The artist's working technique is very good and the chromaticism is eloquent and based on a diverse but elegant palette... But what I loved most is the concept of diverse, eclectic and challenging in each painting!... My favorite: "At The Crossig"... One day I would like to make a street photo similar to that art-work!... Excellent!... Thanks for sharing!

Lol, you can collect a snail when it's raining, put it on the crossing and take a photo. Ok, jokes aside, I'm glad you like the exhibition as it was very interesting.

These are unusual paintings, which makes most of them interesting.
Dandelions of course is my fav. To my eyes, what you may see as reflection, looks like rust stains from the rusted metal drain to me, going down a wall. Concrete? Not sure and the flowers are growing out from under both sides of whatever that part is with the handle.
Fun share.
Well, usual, unusual, it all depends on what you like and what you consider usual or unusual. You're the third to like dandelions :)
I'm glad you liked the paintings.
You are at the time of catching mistakes, why not at the time of giving support?
Mistakes, you're still trying your luck? You've been doing this for years, lying about it and now you play the victim? Support must be earned and you've done everything to lose every support that was given to you!
@erikah mother fucker ..... Fuck you many many
OPPS 🤭 mother fucker .. give me unvote 😂
Art works are the best especially painting. I love how you always go out on exhibition and not be greedy with your experience over there with us here on hive. Asking me to choose which painting is the best there is putting me in a strong dilemma that I can't come out of it. Snail crossing the road was just funny because it's actually a strong traffic that would take time to resolve, reason while the young man on that blue jeans 👖 with sneakers has to come down from his car to go get something before the snail finally crosses the road😂😂😂. The painting are actually very nice and not loving them is not possible😪😪.
I do admire your love for exhibition. It's been a while I read your blog here on hive and trust me I enjoy every bit of it.
thank you once again 😊😀
I wonder what still life is. Rather, I also see a bit of surrealism among such works. The snail crossing the road is the best for me. Plus, you pairing it with the one with Eliza on it seemed like it was the same snail in the first place 😂
But yes, the imagery of snails being slow traffics. Remember not to step on em, hehe
You keep bringing in new exhibition every day, this is something I have never seen before. You make me wonder my life when I will be opportune to visit an exhibition like this.
