Out Of The Box Art
Most likely this is my last or penultimate post of the year and what could be better than an art post, to close the year with.
What you're going to see today is kind of unconventional art and that's why I love it. Lately I had to realize I like these artworks a lot and thank God, there are plenty at two of my favorite galleries.
This artwork had no title, so it's up to the viewer to decide what is is or what the artist meant by it and I'm going to let you tell me what you see or think.
Marcel Lupse - Medicinal Herbs
This was an interesting one as the painting itself is a disk, glued to the dark background. I love that minimalist bouquet of herbs and the background of the bouquet. It's a great way to highlight the bouquet.
István Kancsura - Baptisterium
In classical antiquity, a baptisterium (Ancient Greek: βαπτιστήριον) was a large basin installed in private or public baths into which bathers could plunge, or even swim about. It is more commonly called natatorium or piscina. source
It's an interesting representation of the concept. A church inside a bottle.
Radu Serban - Chromographies
Petre Caprita - Here And Beyond
This is things get interesting. There were 3 artworks merged together and one title. I don't know if the title referred to the last one, or all three though. Unfortunately I failed to take a photo of all 3, so I'm showing them one by one to you.
Of all three, this was the one that I loved the most, for the obvious reasons.
I had to take some partial photos in order to show you the details. This is what I meant when at the beginning of my post I mentioned unconventional art. This is not just paint on canvas, there are other mediums added and that makes this artwork exceptional in my eyes.
As you can see, there are wood pieces in the composition and paint inside them, plus extra fabric added too. The truth is, I'm drawn to this kind of art and whenever I see such artwork, it motivates me to start creating something on my own. However, seeing someone's artwork, ready on the wall is one thing and coming up with an idea and carrying it out is a totally different one. However, I'm not gonna give up on the idea, maybe delay it a bit.
This was the third one. To me it looks like a photo taken of the sky. Obviously I'm not saying this is a photo, or course not. Just that it looks like the sky, the stellar system and so on.
Gábor Kentelki - Eternal Struggle
This may look like a tropical forest painting, with all those colors, but it's not. What I see on the canvas, could be someone's life, even mine. Life is a roller coaster ride, with ups and downs, a lot of struggles and the colors and shapes can symbolize that very well in an abstract way. Even though it may be a bit too colorful for my wall, the concept is brilliant. It has such a deep meaning. I'm wondering if you see the same.
Eugen Dornescu - Couple
This was another brilliant one, but in a very different way. I'm not sure if I should say much about this one. You can see the couple, tell me how you see it. All I can say is that I stood there and looked at it for minutes.
Maybe it's not obvious as there's nothing to compare them with, but these are big size paintings, so I had to step back to be able to capture them.
Mircea Moldovan - The Three Legged Chair
Another unusual artwork and not because of the fragmented frame. This is also mixed medium, there's extra materials added to it, plus it's kind of upside down as well :)
Mircea Moldovan - Couple, Him and Her
Another brilliant one in my eyes. If I were to choose, this one would be one of the selected ones for sure. As with the one before, I'll let you tell me what you see here.
Vera Dan - The Noble Onion
In many parts of my country, storing onions during winter happens by making a braid from the onion and hang it up to dry. There are sellers on the side of the road, selling these onion braids. Trust me, what you see is so tempting that you pay double of what you usually pay at the farmers market, just to have those gorgeous onion braids.
The people on the painting are making those onion braids. However, what is interesting to note, is the focus of the artist. She decided to highlight their hand and feet, not their upper body and faces. I don't know about you, but I love it. It's highly unusual, but that's a very good thing. The other thing I love about it is the harmony between the colors. It's fantastic in my eyes.
Here you can see the size of the paintings.
In one of my next posts, I'm going to show you more interesting artworks. Till then, you know what to do. Let me know which one is your favorite :)
If we don't meet, I'd like to wish everyone Happy New Year and see you in 2024!

A M A I Z I N G! I am just impressed with what I've seen! The very first I´d call it, EGO.
I'm really happy to hear that.
Art is extraordinary, born with art that high-level skills are difficult to try
I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but thanks for the comment.
Thank you very much back
But art is indeed beautiful and everything looks beautiful so that when taking pictures it will be beautiful
Happy New Year @erikah , that Noble Onion is very clever indeed, as is the one with chunks of wood in. Stay safe chill out and I will catch your blog next year
Happy New Year to you to @grindle. Enjoy the holiday season :)
cheers @erikah
Interesting works. I like the last shot even though you said these were large works I didn't get it until you gave us the shot of the room. I like that first untitled work. I see the sea. And then a shore maybe beach transitioning to maybe a town or maybe there is a fence or fishing nets. But I see the sea for sure.
That is why I took a photo of the gallery as from the photos, there's no way you can imagine the size of the paintings. It can be tricky.
Happy new year @erikah friend!... And thanks a lot for sharing with us your always top-level content!!!

I like all the unique aspects, especially the one you mentioned about Petre Caprita, both here and beyond. The unique craft in painting is brilliant. It must be so special to you since you are willing to travel to see these drawings.
Art always worth all the efforts, for those who like art. I'm glad you liked the art pieces. It was a special exhibition, with amazing pieces.
