At The Military Exhibition
Today I'm back with another set of photos from the military exhibition I visited last week, organized by special forces. If you have missed the first post about it, you can check it out here.
These gadgets are essential in any operation, without communication making progress is quite impossible.
This one may not be in use anymore (who knows), but I'm sure it served its time successfully, offering assistance to those who were tasked with gathering intel.
Most likely 98% of the visitors had very little to no idea how the displayed firearms or gadgets worked. Those who served (mandatory military service) are quite old now, heading towards 40 or so now. The best thing about the exhibition was that these guys treated everyone with the utmost respect and explained us how the firearms we had in front of us worked.
This is a bomb squad suit we all know from the movies, but I've never seen one in real life. Even if you're at the scene where the bomb is, as a civilian you're evacuated till the bomb squad gets there, so no way you can see one live. But there it was. I was able to touch it. What surprised me was the boots. They were quite heavy.
This was where things started to get interesting. There were handguns at the entrance and you could judge by the number of people who were there, how interesting the items were for them. It was full of teenagers, acting like they were playing video games.
As you can see, there was a great variety to choose from.
Contrary to the situation at the tables, no one was eager to get on the ground to try this gun out. I saw they had a nice cover to protect you from the water and mud and from the cold too. When I was at the army's shooting range, we had to get on the ground, in the mud :).
These were the coolest toys and as you can see, these kids were interested in them. I wish I could give you some description but there were only codes, which may make a lot of sense to those who served, but not the rest. Anyway, you can see what they are :)
A few steps away, you could find yourself in another era, where soldiers were using cannons and swords. That man was teaching the boy how to use a sword. It was quite cool actually.
Then there was this snowmobile, which can be crucial in certain circumstances.
Appropriate clothing is also part of the game and there were plenty here, of all kinds.
The boots were absolutely amazing. There was no price tag on any of them as this was no exhibition with sale, but here's their website, you can check it out: -> Haix They have some very cool products, Gore-Tex too. Good to know where to look in case you need something solid and unusual, I mean not street wear.
While looking at these boots I was thinking of the soldiers in Ukraine, how they were using sanitary pads in their boots to keep them warm or dry, or both.
It was interesting to see these these clothes and footwear.
A tent and sleeping bag, which is a must if they are spending time outside.
Funny thing that there were cameras everywhere and screens too.
What you see on the right is a MAKpro 5-25x56i HD is the ultimate long range riflescope for long distances and large calibers. Yes, you guessed it correctly. I cheated. There was an owner manual there, so I ran a search based on what it says on the manual.
I don't even want to imagine how much this equipment weights. Actually weight was the keyword in quit many places, but I'll tell you about that in my next post.

Another very cool post thanks for doing a part II. It's great to see a different perspective of the things used by another countries specials forces. Much similarities though. The boots and uniforms are much the same here. I have goretex jacket and pants. Great rain gear and is very light.

It's good to know the boots and the uniforms are much the same and I think it's because of NATO. I was told NATO is requiring Romania to use same size bullets, which makes sense as there are different troops from a lot of NATO countries in Romania now. When the Ukrainian - Russian war broke out, NATO strengthened the Romanian border as it's the longest one along with Poland.
I've been around the military for around 30 years. I came in when woodland BDUs (battle dress uniform) were used with black boots. The days of shining boots. When deployed in the middle east we wore Desert BDUs with sand colored boots.
Since I got out, which was 2001 they have had several uniform changes and some were based on troop input. The uniform for utility now doesn't have to be ironed and the boots are of a type you don't shine. Now one uniform is used basically for all utility tasks. Which is good because it's less clothes and saves money.
If this war continues and involves other countries into it. I can see an artic looking battle dress uniform being used perhaps. Let's not hope for that though.
Thanks for the info, it means a lot coming from you. Shining shoes has always been a way to punish and mock soldiers, so at least that's eliminated now :)
Yeah, let's not paint the devil on the wall, as we say in Hungarian. I had my fair share of headache for 2 weeks, when the war broke out.
I and my brother would love to come to an event like this if there is one in our area! I mean we both are fans of shooter games so there's an interest in experiencing the real thing except dying lol.

Maybe one day you'll have the occasion to visit such an event. There's always hope.
Aside from hand guns and the suits that most bomb squads wear, the different styles of boots caught my attention. It must have been heavy to wear! But anyway, I like the idea of visiting such an exhibition, not only for us to learn about the interesting things and stuff that our armed forces are using, but also to finally witness in person the tactical equipment we only usually see at movies. I hope there will be such an exhibition here so I could also experience the same thing you did :)
It is definitely an experience that remains printed in your memory. I was watching those kids trying out the handguns, climbing up on every single vehicle and having a lot of fun. These are off limit to us, except when there's such an event organized.

This is something that I'd die to see until 2 years ago before the whole madness between Russia and Ukraine started. Now most likely it will give me shivers down the spine, but it's still nice to see that there are organized exhibitions like this and are not kept away from curious eyes!
I understand what you mean and in a way you're right, but imagine, this event had a another purpose as well, which was recruiting. There were tents where military personnel was explaining how the military works, what to expect and also offering brochures to those who were interested. How else can you recruit if you don't let the population close to what the military means.
You should have seen the school kids, you had no rook because of them 😂. For them it was a huge playground.

This is quite interesting. In my country, people are mot allowed to enter the miliatry zones not to talk of touching their properties.
Only soldiers and people who live in the barracks are allowed to enter. They always have a pass
We're not allowed to enter any military zone either. This was an event organized by special forces, but outside any military zone.

My favorite thing here is the boots. They’re so amazing.
Where I’m from, civilians are not even allowed to look at a military person twice, they’ll beat you like a thief and say you’re stalking them. 😭
Boots were indeed amazing. While writing my post, I was looking at them and considering buying one, but the thing is, winters are too warm these days, we don't even have snow anymore, so my usual street boots are just perfect.
This is funny, but sad as well. I live in a democratic country, where the military has its own role and beating civilians is not in their attribution.
People here only talk about democracy when it has something to be with either their power or their bank accounts. At times one even forgets the actual duties of the military here, all they do is horde mustache like African goats and be beating people around.

All the gadgets and weapons are good for defence. It is good to know the military 🪖 operations have revolve over time from the use of swords to gun and even more sophisticated ones. All in all we pray for peace and hope we can all be ambassadors of peace.
I'm really a fan of guns since I was a kid and all the stuffs in armies that's why being a soldier is one of my dream till now.
This kind of event inspires me and I just hope that there's one here near my place. This event is mostly held in cities for some reasons.

How interesting this is to me, you won't understand how happy I am seeing those pictures. I said in the earlier post that I would love to learn more on what you had that day from the exhibition and you're doing it very well. Seeing a little boy learning how to use sword is amazing ☺️☺️🥰, I just wish it's me doing that. Those boots are so big, I am just wondering how the soldiers manage to walk and run with them. In an exhibit like this, I would have really loved the part with swords. I don't know why but I have a thing for swords.
This is a very interesting way to creat awareness of most of the things that the military sector is involved with.
