Splinterlands tournaments for new players
Tournaments
Players can choose between two modes. In Modern tournaments, only recent cards are allowed, creating a more level field for newer players. Wild tournaments permit any cards, giving an advantage to those with extensive collections. The choice of mode lets you balance cost and competition, with card rentals as a helpful option for boosting Collection Power if needed.
Each tournament requires a minimum Collection Power (CP), which varies by mode. If you don't meet the CP requirement, renting cards can help you qualify, though Gladiator cards and cards staked on land don't count towards CP.
Tournament Types
Several tournament types allow players to join based on preferences:
Open Tournaments focus on skill by giving all players the same set of cards, emphasizing strategy over collection size.
Anytime Tournaments: let you submit teams within a time window, offering flexibility.
Single Elimination: is high-stakes; one loss, and you're out.
Sit-and-Go Tournaments: begin as soon as a minimum number of players join, ideal for quick, spontaneous matches.
To succeed, study experienced players’ tactics, especially in Open Tournaments. Manage your collection and resources effectively, renting if necessary. Each match offers valuable learning experiences that build your skills, regardless of the outcome.
Final Thoughts
With modes suited to players of all experience levels and a variety of formats to explore, Splinterlands tournaments are a central part of the game, helping players refine their skills while enjoying the excitement of competition.
