Charity Begins At Home: Let the Change Begin with You

Life offers us many and amazing opportunities, but we must be involved to make the most of the amazing opportunities made available to us.
Many time, we seems to give more attention to people’s action, words and deeds even much more than ours, but in my opinion it’s not supposed to be so, As you journey with me, please allow me take you down the lane of my experience which I believe you may have also had same.

When a correctional advice is given to a set of people, especially when not addressed to an individual, you will noticed that some people amongst that set will try to look at each other’s, trying to find out who the information is directed to, sometimes you will hear response like “tell them”, when the information was being addressed to all the persons that were present in that group, many will isolate themselves and redirect the information to others.

The phrase “Charity begins at home” mean many things to many persons, but was made popular far back in the 17th century by a British clergyman who was also an historian, Thomas Fuller. Many persons have misinterpreted it today, by coining different meaning for themselves. He said that charity should begin at home but should not end there but should be extended to the rest of the world.

The world can be a better place if we all decide to take responsibility first to ourselves then extend the to the world, if you have to show love to people it is important that you start by showing love first to yourselves before reaching out to the other.

This is living life by example, the change that you intend to bring to the world or your immediate environment, will have to start with you, the knowledge that you want to pass to another must have been your experience or what you or what you have tried yourself.

Charity is a show of love or care to someone or a set of persons, but the first person what will first experience that show of love will be from within, you will need to have it to be able to give out to another.
It is not possible to be known by people afar off, when people living with you don’t know you, whatever you have to give to people far off, you must have started first with people living with you, your true identity is more known to people who lives with you more than strangers.

All your true good and amazing attributes, must begin from home, whatever you are known for, didn’t start outside, it began from home, but if you see things coming in from outside that was never seen at home, then there is something wrong, meaning that there had been some manipulations that resulted in the fake result but true character should and will come from home, Yes it will start from home but must not end there, it will be extended to the global family.

Everything you will and can do tomorrow, is dependent on the foundation that was laid at the beginning, if the foundation has fault, then the entire system will be faulty, this is applicable in all area of life. Marriage, academic, business and religion. There must be a good start or a good foundation to be able to strive through the odds in the phases of life. The metaphorical saying implies that our show of love will start from within and then will reach out to the world.
