The Need To Prohibit Alcohol In Our Society

The Need To Prohibit Alcohol In Our Society

Both alcohol and drugs have the power to intoxicate. Their effects are almost the same, in the end, both get people high making them do things they wouldn't do on a normal day.

Under the effects of alcohol, people do crazy things, under the effects of drugs people still do crazy things, the end result is the same. Alcohol is bad and taking hard drugs is also bad, we shouldn't deceive ourselves or let anyone do so.

If alcohol doesn't get you high, a tiny sip can get another person drunk, if doing drugs doesn't intoxicate you, a little sniff of cocaine can get another person out of his mind.

Our body systems work differently, that is why both drugs and alcohol were invented. If one doesn't work, the other will surely do at the end of the day.

Truth be told, drugs are more potent than alcohol, the effect is fast and more intense but none of them is better. Both do harm to anyone who consumes them.

When you even go to the side effects both of them pose serious threats to our health, alcohol damages livers, and drugs also affect the liver and other vital organs of the body. They both can also be addictive.

You may think alcohol is harmless until you see someone under its influence. In my opinion, since both of these substances pose a serious threat to people and society at large, the government should fight them both.

But unfortunately, most countries fight drugs but say nothing about alcohol which has the same potency as drugs when consumed in high quantity.

I have seen good men turn into devils to their wives when they consume alcohol, elders throw their Respects away when they consume alcohol, people say things they shouldn't when they are under the influence of alcohol, people dare things they normally wouldn't when they are being intoxicated by alcohol.

Is it not the same thing drugs do? I think it's not fair to ban only drugs and exclude alcohol. It's just like saying, don't eat raw palm oil but you can cook with it.

If I have the power, I'll ban alcohol the same way drugs are banned without a second thought. I can't say this will bring a complete transformation to the society but I am sure everyone will testify about the change when that bill is passed into law.

I can't imagine how many shattered homes would be brought back together. Love will return to many homes. Those of you who have seen husbands or wives who are drunkards will understand what I am talking about very well.

I have a neighbor who loves his wife so much, that he talks about her everywhere he has the opportunity but he has a little problem, he is a drunkard, any day he mistakenly drinks, he comes back home and beats the hell out of his wife, call her names and threaten to divorce her.

When the effect of the alcohol is gone the next day, he comes and apologizes and he does this anytime he drinks. When he is not drunk he is a calm and nice man but whenever he drinks, he becomes a beast.

All these things are enough for me to say a big "No" to alcohol. If our government does something about it, it will do us good, in fact, it will even help some people grow financially.

Thanks For Reading

Because of these two things, we have seen in our society that many people's lives are deteriorating, so these two things should be banned from the society.

Exactly, if they would be banned, our society would be safe to some extent. Thanks a lot for the support 🥰

Isn't it enough for you to say no. You want the government to step in. Why would you want to restrict someone else's decision just because you don't agree with it..

Hehehe, it's not as if I don't agree with alcohol. Although I don't drink but I don't see those who drink as evil. My concern is just how many people abuse the substance. People drink irresponsibly, get so intoxicated and cause harm to others.

As I speak to you currently, the woman I spoke about in my write up is already tired of her husband's attitude and wants to leave. If he drinks only little and behaves himself, it won't be a problem but he is doing the opposite.

Down here, if you see young people who drink, you will pity them, it's as if they are tight to bottles and cups, the little income they make all goes in there.

Well, maybe I went too far by saying the government should intervene, I was just so moved by what I see around. No one would stop alcohol afterwards but for our own good, I think if we drink responsibly it will make our society a better place.

Thanks so much for dropping by sir, it's been such a long, long time🥰

Alcohol is one legal thing that is injurious to our health, funny how people take it for fun.

I heard drunkards tell the truth so I don’t know if your neighbor genuinely wants to divorce his wife and can’t say it or what

I don’t understand people who say they drink to forget their problems but well I’m not here to judge

It is very understandable to judge a situation like this because children are involved.

Women should stop putting up with any form of abuse, they should not even be encouraged because they end up creating problems for the society at large.

In my environment you will hear them say I am staying for my children, a very irritating and annoying statement because chances are, one of their children growing up to be an abuser while the other a collector of abuse.

Thus the cycle of abuse is maintained.

Or you could even die and leave the kids

LoL, it seems you have seen these things play out around you many times LoL. You know once children come in marriage, it becomes very difficult for women to want to leave. No mother would love to see her kids grow under the care of another woman. It's a pathetic situation.

Hahahah, my dear, it could be right. I mean, no one is using a remote to control you, so why threaten your wife with divorce under the influence of alcohol?

One thing I alway beg God for us never to give me a woman who drinks. I don't have energy for drama.

I wonder where they got that kind of message from, how can something that adds up problem to you, make you forget your problems? The story is not too clear honestly.

I agree with you, bro! When it comes to alcohol and drugs, there is no lesser devil... both are extremely harmful and should be banned.

I think that the effects of drug is more severe than alcohol. In many instances, drug abuse has caused many people mental issues. People should continue to be made aware of the consequences of excessive consumption of alcohol.

It's true, the effects of drugs are more severe than alcohol but both of drugs and alcohol were made for thesame purpose. We should just stay away from them for our own good

An action taken against drugs will definitely lead to an improvement in the financial lives of most families.
Alcohol and drugs are substitutes of each other. When drugs are banned but alcohol remains in circulation in a society, it doesn't make even the slightest difference.

I am here to judge sha because why will a sane woman stay with a man who beats her?

No amount of verbal love or monetary benefits can compensate for domestic violence. What if she dies? Does she even value her life at all?????

Both she and her drunk husband should visit the nearest psychiatrist hospitals because what example are they setting for the children, that abuse is ok??

That man is a woman beater he should stop hiding under the guise of alcohol.

For people like this man in your story, I support your stance on the restriction of alcohol.

Hmm, I am short of words but what you said is nothing but the truth. When your husband beats you often, you don't need anyone to advise you to leave until he has learned his lessons. So unfortunate, a lot of women in that situation stay in the marriage in the name of we are bounded by an oath, and end up losing their lives.

Thanks for reading ma, sorry for late reply 🙏
