We came from different places, have different colors, different tribes and different genders, different religions but one thing defines us all, we are all humans. No matter our status, no matter our class the fact that God created us as humans has automatically made us one with others.

Equality has been a big matter in the world, that sense of love that is supposed to bind all mankind together is no longer there, some set of people feel they are above others and as such they deserve to be worshipped or served. But woe unto anyone that reasons like that. We are all supposed to be one and be lead by love.

I have been to places where I saw people being nice to only people that are theirs but harsh and mean to others whom seem to be alien, people put tribalism, color, race, family and so on first on their mind. If you are not their own they won't consider you.

In Nigeria, this thing is happening every where, things are no longer done base on merit but based on who knows who, right before your eyes your rights can be violated and you have nothing to do about it. Certain rights that one ought to enjoy can be thwarted and you will be treated like some piece of shit but another person who has an upper hand can come and that right will be given to them.

I have watched and seen how women suffer and have their rights trodden under the feet. In my opinion, women ought to enjoy equal rights with men. But in our society today, there are a lot of limitations for them.

There are many things that they too want to accomplish but certain laws will not allow them do so, I heard a woman complaining sometime ago that she wanted to apply for a job, but they told her that before she can get the job she will have to renounce her marriage and pretend to be single until she is done with training. I was surprised to hear that. When has marriage become a bad thing that is has to be renounced inorder to get a job?

Why must married women be shown difference from the single ones? That one is even fair, there are so many of our African cultures and practices that has totally violated the rights of women, in some cultures women are never allowed to be leaders, no matter how she has the potentials no one will consider her.

Check our politics in Nigeria, even when women contest for position, they are usually not being considered, outside it seems as if they are equal with men but when they contest they are been turned down. They are been seen as not been equal to the task. Things ought not to be so. Gender doesn't mean anything, it is said that what a man can do a woman can do better.

Women are not weak as many people supposed, they can do wonders if they are given the opportunity. In some countries men can do certain things and be allowed to go free but if a woman does it, she will be punished greatly. I thought we are humans, why should they be treated like slaves? I think the place of woman in the world has to be restored, honor, dignity and respect needs to be accorded to women too.

All humans ought to enjoy equal right and equal justice, in some countries, if you are not their citizen or color you are not considered as anything. They can molest and treat you like rag and you can do nothing about it. This has been part of the reason why we are set back and the world remains the way it is.

Certain people prospering and others suffering because we don't want to consider one another, we feel we are superior, we know better, we should be served others must be under us and serve. Others are nothing, this is a very wicked mindset. Humans are supposed to be united and in unity is love

How to promote equality

1 . Love: I believe that love conquers all. If there is love between us, we will not consider others below or less . If we love each other we will treat them as ourselves. Love is lacking among men that is why there is division everywhere. Our colors, genders, status and the rest should not be the basis from which we draw conclusions.

Every other human being is same like you. We didn't choose to have the colors we have today, neither did we choose our genders God made us so. Why should you deny someone his/her entitlement for being who they are? Nature made us so. Just imagine you were in their shoes and you were treated the way you are treating them will you be happy about it? Let love lead and equality will be achieved.

2 . Enlightenment, equality orientation: some individuals although educated but don't know the importance of equality. We should not just conclude that because a person went to school and has a big office or comes from a well to do country understands the need for equality.

Awareness should be made. There should be sensitization and education of the public about this matter. Both the poor and the rich, the sick and the healthy are supposed to enjoy equal rights, one should not be favoured above the other.

3 . Creation of organizations, groups that allows different countries to partake in will help as well. We will get to know each other better if we unite with the citizens of other countries. We should obey that law that warrants the respect of the citizens of other countries no matter how small or feeble their country might be.

Citizens of other countries should also be treated with love and care. We are all humans. Though we didn't come from the same parents but we bear the same general name as human beings. We all fall under the same class in the animal kingdom, why do we hate ourselves then? Lions are not supposed to eat lions.i think if a room is created for different countries to interact with each other, there would be better understanding amongst them.

We all need to know each other better, together we will go far and achieve greater things, but when we begin to see others as nothing then our dreams will be cut short. Everyone has something to offer there's no need to underestimate anybody. Let them have their rights too, they too can do it.we should unto others what we want them to do for us.
