Tackling The Issue Of Poor Lyrics

Tackling The Issue Of Poor Lyrics

A lot is wrong with our generation, the level of decay that has entered into almost every field is giving me cause for serious concern.

Gone are the days when music was a source of motivation and encouragement. Nowadays we listen to songs only to be entertained. The content that is supposed to make music unique is lost.

Thank God for technology, at least we have good sounds that we can manage to fix our minds on to ease ourselves in the absence of the word, if not music would have been a total trash.

I had to stop listening to certain kinds of songs because of the kind of messages they carry. The funny part is after you finish listening, you will find yourself struggling to get it out of your head because you know that a sensible person should not keep that kind of message in his/her head.

It amazes me how some people still seem to appreciate these kind of songs and hype them. Our generation is lost, something is wrong with us and it ails me that we seemed to be very ignorant about it. Instead of people becoming transformed for good after listening to a song, they become even worse than they used to be.

You play a song and the sound always seems to be more interesting and appealing than the lyrics. In fact, in some songs, the words which are often very meaningless are few and the sound is long.

Music is not a must for crying out loud, if it doesn't fit you, leave the field and do something else. Having a good voice and knowing how to sing on key is not good enough.

The content of your song together with the voice and your expertise is what makes it balanced. As a singer, you are not just a celebrity but a preacher, what you give through your songs has the ability to affect lives out there.

However, not all songs lack lyrics, it depends on the kind of music you listened to, I have noticed that most gospel songs nowadays are doing excellently.

There is a great shift in gospel songs. Maybe it's the artists I listen to but so far, I have not played any gospel songs and not gotten blessed.

This is a call for us to know whom we listen to. Don't just give your ears and open your heart to any artist, some of them can mess you up. Remember what you hear, is what you become.

Tackling the issue of meaningless songs is something that will not be easy. Some artists don't really have anything good to offer to society.

What good message do you expect to receive from someone who can sing only when he or she is high? Without hard drugs or alcohol, some of them can't give out anything. Is that the kind of person whom you want to minister something reasonable?

Most of the artists are just after fame and money. They don't care about anything else besides these. But that's a weakness to get through to them.

Since their concerns are about fame, if we really want to get good content out of them, we have to exercise our power as fans by being plain and sincere with our feedback on their songs.

If they sing rubbish we should be able to disapprove the song by not promoting them on various social platforms and also give honest comments on the songs pointing to the areas we are not comfortable with, that will really get through to them and make them adjust because I am sure, no celebrity will love to lose their fans and followers or even keep seeing bad feedbacks on their contents.

We are the cause of the kind of songs these people are giving to us, i tell you if we stop promoting bad songs, bad songs will stop coming. Someone will sing something that doesn't make sense yet you will see it hitting millions on Audiomack App, is it magic?

When we eventually stop supporting bad songs and we are deliberate about it, the artists will also stop giving such songs.
