Stepping Up For The Worse

Stepping Up For The Worse

It is very obvious how fast we are growing and progressing in various areas of life as humans. It's as if each day better ways to become better are being made available for us through the aid of technology.

Gone are the days when people overwork themselves, putting so much effort into a thing, and ending up with little results. These days, people have devised ways to do those same things smartly without putting in much effort and end up with big and profitable results.

There is a place for hard work that I won't disregard but smartness seems to be advanced. I don't know if you have ever been in a situation where you always dissipate so much energy and time trying to put something in place using a particular method then suddenly you encountered someone who solves the same thing within a very short period of time using another approach? I have been there before.

I know how frustrating and slow hard work can be. Working smart is like a cheat to get our desired results with limited effort.

But one thing we must not forget is the fact that before smartness can be achieved hard work needs to play a role. Hard Work might look old-fashioned and annoying but without it, we can't even achieve the knowledge to be smart.

It's so impressive how learning is something so easy to do nowadays, I remember it took me almost all my primary school days to learn how to read, but today, pupils in the Nursery sections can read and even write.

All this is possible because of technology, easy ways of learning are available. A child doesn't only learn in school, even from home they can still host classes with their teacher online.

Books are not so hard to get, once the student has access to a good internet connection, he/she can go online and get the very necessary material they need. These don't only make learning easy but affordable as well.

I must confess that I love the way we are progressing, however, when it comes to writing examinations, I would still prefer the traditional method.

There are so many records of malpractices in different places on that very approach of writing examinations but I think if we want to address the issue of cheating in examinations and also raising smart students who would make use of the materials made available for them to become better and not to use them negatively, then we must not dare tempt them with such.

Students are very smart, no matter how tight the security will be or how difficult the program is set for students not to cheat with their phones and internet available, trust me, some students will still cheat.

Some students have better knowledge of the internet than you can ever imagine. It will surprise you how they are able to bypass the security and get whatever they want without anyone even noticing.

If the situation is that computers are provided for the students to write their examinations, I'll say that's a nice idea. It's even ongoing in many institutions already, but giving students access to their phones and the internet, that's like keeping a dog and bone in the same room and telling the dog, "Don't touch it."

I don't think that would ever be possible, if examination would be made computer based completely, it's a sweet idea, though it also have its downsides but if it's going to be that phone would be allowed, then honestly, it would have been better to scrap examinations out completely because malpractice would be double of what we already have going on and it will even make some students lazy and unserious.

Thanks For Reading

we are now advancing compared to those days. i have been in that shoe where i had to use my head to calculate, whereas calculator was in place. this was as a result of the strict warning i had to follow. My teachers were not helping issues, though.

Using certain gadgets like calculator and the others isn't bad, I think I was in similar situation too, and I didn't perform well because I don't know how to navigate mathematics without calculator. But allowing phones and internet into the examination hall is surely going to cause a problem

Phone in an examination hall is indeed no way cause how will the teachers know that this kids have been impacted but then a computer base exam is sure cool , no stress of marking scripts.
