Lessons From Hive Learners Weekly Featured Contest So Far

Hive Learners Featured Weekly prompts are unique, I can't pinpoint any topic I ever wrote on that didn't have an impact on my life at all. Since I started participating in the weekly prompt a lot has changed about me, I am not going to school but I am ever learning.
I can't number the things I have learned from the weekly prompts, morally, educationally, socially, and so on. This is the reason why I call Hive Learners Community Home. I can't forget, I first heard about zodiac signs from this community. I didn't know anything about it, but the prompts spurred me to research and I got relevant information that helped me put my work together.
Different topics that I wrote on taught me different things, but in general, participating in the weekly featured contest taught me a few things, and they are ;
1 . How to always give something a try even if I am not so sure I can do so much on it; I must confess there were days that I got scared to participate in some topics because of how tough they looked to me. I am someone who doesn't like giving out something I don't have. If I am writing something, it should be based on facts and not assumptions.
I love it when I give more solutions than confusion, this attitude has helped me escape giving out false information but at the same time, it has also made me small as it doesn't allow me to try certain things out because of the fear of not being accurate. I operated like that for a long until I became consistent on Hive Learners weekly featured posts, I discovered that even topics that I don't know anything at all about, I am able to write something on them.
My motivation always is if others can do it, It means I can as well do it. So I put myself under pressure to go on research and read what others put down and from there, I get some ideas and put my own too down.
I don't run away from situations, I face them head-on, I don't limit myself, I don't say I can't, even if it's obviously tough, I must give it a try and most times, it goes well in the end.
2 . I learned that interacting with people paves the way for better opportunities: part of the requirements of the weekly featured post is to interact with the posts of others by upvoting voting and commenting. At first, I found it very stressful but with time, it became something I loved doing because, through it, I got to meet certain amazing personalities who became part of my life to date.
It was through the Hive Learners Weekly feature post that I learned how to engage, and not just any kind of engagement but dropping nice comments on the posts of others. I realized that as I was doing that, people also came by to drop good comments on my post which leaves me with joy.
You won't understand how important it is to get comments on your post until you make a post and no one drops any comment on it. Even if you get the highest upvote, I bet, you won't be happy because no one got the message you tried to pass across. To get an audience, you must learn how to engage well with the posts of others. It is one good lesson I got from the weekly featured prompts and it has been helping me on Hive immensely.
3 . I also learned that abiding by rules will always keep us on the safer side: every featured post has unique rules attached to it, and those who keep them get rewards while those who break them face punishment. Ever since I joined the Hive learners community, I learned how to strictly abide by contest rules and I have never had any problem at all.
My Achievement On The Chain
Honestly, if I say I want to talk about all that I have achieved on Hive, I may keep writing and not come to an end. I have achieved so much on the chain, one of which is developing a writing skill. Something I didn't know anything about before but the Hive Learners community blessed me with it. Today writing has become my hobby, if I don't write I feel like I didn't live.
Another thing I achieved is getting a valid investment, prior to my coming to Hive I had no investment anywhere, but today on the chain, I have Hive power and other tokens that serve as investments for me on the chain.
The Mistakes I Have Made
One of the remarkable mistakes I made on the Hive Learners community was begging for upvotes, LoL! It sounds funny, right? Yeah, there was a time I wrote a post and it was not curated, I didn't really know how the system operates, so I thought I should just jump into the community's discord general chat and ask for it since it's where I always lay my complaints if I have any. Well, I did that and it was seriously frowned upon.
I got a one-week suspension, it was such a tough time for me but I learned my lessons. One thing I noticed with Hive is if you do a good job and you follow rules you will not go unrewarded. I also got to understand that getting upvotes is not guaranteed to anyone.
That also shaped my mentality about getting upvotes all the time, if I write and I get some fine, if I don't it's fine. It was from that experience that I began writing not just for the money alone but for passion. Because of my love for writing, while I was under suspension, I still wrote all the prompts for the week. Hehe. I got addicted I guess.
Another mistake I made was not conducting the proper research before writing a post, I wrote a post on a topic, I think it was on social media and I gave a wrong figure for the number of people that used Facebook. Lucky me, someone came across the post and corrected me. I was very happy he did, and I didn't hesitate to correct it. Hehe. From that day, I learned how to thoroughly examine my work and every research I did before hitting the publish button.
For misconceptions, I don't think I have any because I had a very good mentor on Hive @ovey10 who always answers my questions, the journey has been a bit easy for me.
Learning never ends, never come to a point in your life where you feel like you are a pro, that might be the beginning of your downfall.

This has been one thing that has been keeping me going. People see it as jealousy or me trying to compete with them, but I know that I am a contender so I will be an idiot to surrender and as such, I have to use their success as a fuel to keep going.
Seems like we're on the same page when it comes to mistakes but i faced more time than you did. Lol..
Thank you for sharing
That isn't jealousy, we have others to learn from, giving up is a very foolish thing to do. We will always give it a try, no matter how difficult it looks until we are acquainted with it.
Mistake is certain, it's part of the growth proccess hehe.. thanks for reading boss
Thank God you have moved pass that mistake now. Humans make mistake and the good thing is that we learn from it.
Thanks for sharing
Exactly ma, making mistakes is part of life, and it's not bad in itself but holding unto the mistakes and refusing to grow is where the problem lies.
Thanks for reading ma
The growth process is real, the growth process is what makes us better, making mistakes was all part of it, but see how far we have come
That is true, without the mistakes, some of us wouldn't have gotten certain experiences that we are benefiting from today. Thanks for reading boss
There are sometimes I come across some topics and I will be so nervous to start writing about it because I always wonder what exactly will I write about this topic. the funny part is when I finally decide to write on the topic I write a lot of things and eventually I become worried about the post being too long 😅.
I believe the mistakes is all part of the growth process, without them we wouldn't have learnt anything significant.
Hehehe, I think we are same on this, you get scared on how to start but as soon as you start writing, you write so much that you don't even know where to put a full stop🤣. Emrysjobber, you are a very good author, no matter how lengthy your work is, I usually enjoy reading them.
You are right, if we don't make mistakes, we will never learn.
Thanks for reading bro
