SHOKiN Day 6 With 24 Friends: Sharing Lunch And Spending HBD

This is me excitedly bringing you another report from the Shopper's Connect Nigeria meetup, and yes, I was present! As a group of shoppers, we aim to give our community more recognition through our weekly shopping activities. It was another memorable experience, made possible through the conscious effort of our local guide, @fokusnow, who successfully listed a popular restaurant in Aba—LaFresh Foods n' Bakery.

For this meetup, we agreed to have a group lunch at LaFresh and decided to pay for our meals using HBD to enjoy Distriator’s cashbacks. The meetup was scheduled for noon, and as expected, some of our dear friends arrived earlier while others came a bit later. But no matter the time of arrival, we showed up in numbers, bringing life and energy to the entire restaurant.

The presence of our group caught the attention of other customers, many of whom were surprised by how many of us there were. Some even thought we were having a party or some kind of special celebration! This made it another perfect opportunity to create awareness about our activities and the Shopper's Connect community, something we've been consistently doing for months now.

This was my first time having a meal at this restaurant, and I must say, they did really good. I opted for my local cuisine, vegetable soup and semo. I don’t usually eat that in restaurants, but I just felt like it was worth a try—and I’m so glad I didn’t regret it! They also had other meals like the popular jollof rice, fried rice, white rice and stew, and a couple of other mouthwatering dishes. Their drinks were chilled enough to quench thirst in the blazing hot afternoon, and their staff were welcoming and dutiful. I would definitely want to try out other things they have to offer, like their smoothies and more.

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the ambiance at LaFresh. The entire space was clean and inviting, both inside and outside. There were no messy sights, and the warmth of the environment made it all the more enjoyable. Of course, we couldn't resist taking lots of pictures to capture the memories.

It was heartwarming to see so many new faces at the meetup. Many of our old members brought along their friends, and these new friends got signed up during the event. You can only imagine the excitement on their faces when they got their first discounts after paying for their meals! It's moments like these that show how impactful our community is.

In total, about 24 of us attended the meetup, and together we made 58 claims from Distriator. This was such an amazing experience, filled with laughter, connections, and the shared joy of being part of something meaningful.

Looking ahead, I’m already thrilled about ShoKiN Day 7, which is just around the corner. As a local guide, I’m excited to continue listing more businesses in Aba. This city is massive, and despite our consistent efforts, we’ve only scratched the surface. I can’t wait to onboard more users during our next meetup and keep spreading awareness about the SpendHBD community.
