Under the Radar

I know most people don't like the fact that we're not having anticipated growth on this platform despite the level of development that takes place on this chain. It is disappointing for sure. Yet I also look at it from another angle from time to time. We're practically invisible by the standards of what am sure most people envisage this place to be, we are. However, we are also invisible to both those that may lift the platform, and those that may seek to bring it down, if that's any consolation.

For some people it may not sound like much, but hear me out before you full disagree with me. Hive was at a period where it needed product refinement above every other thing. We were getting attention in the early stages, but such attention likely would not have created long term loyalists without the chain showing serious promises and pointers to what it set out to accomplish. Right now, I can name at least 3 ways the Hive chain could provide superior value (global asset, easy transfer, easy access to equity and DPOs) that we don't quite get on the heavily regulated traditional scene.

I've often said that regulations aren't such a bad thing, there are crazy people out there after all. Yet excessive and unfounded regulations could stifle, or sometimes completely kill growth potential. No one wants to be fending off lawsuits or forced to change their mode of operations before product development is complete. Going under the radar has helped Hive in that regard, even the larger crypto space continues to be a hunting ground for regulators. Good thing the market is no pushover.

It does feel like we've gone under the radar long enough though. You get the feeling that the true test will begin once we do get noticed to see just how well we'd be able to accommodate a large number of people in the system and also fend off the regulatory hammer. Many products who think they are suitably prepared get exposed badly for having either poor practical proof of value or poor governance and ethics. Promising crypto projects have been stifled by bad leadership and corruption for instance,

Conclusion

When we start to get popular that is when the real temptations come. Hopefully we will continue to maintain the same atmosphere and synergy when that time comes, which I hope isn't too far off.
