Hive: Builds Trust, Provokes Trust

One of the first and most important lessons we learn as adults is that we simply cannot do everything alone, no matter how hard we try. If we really want to succeed and make a difference, we are going to have to bring people in at some point or the other and actually put a decent amount of faith in them.

This can be a tough one for some as you cannot control the action, desires or intentions of others. We can only control our own actions (and even that is a struggle), so some people hate to depend on others for anything. I am not so much a fan of dependency too, but I have come to accept that that is what it will take to get a fair amount of things done.

For instance, there is always a struggle to find good employees by a founder of a company. When it is a small business, the founder tries to do a bit of everything but becomes overwhelmed as the company grows. When people are brought it, they may not share the same vision or desire as the founder and choose to slack off.

The people who drive a vision can be either a blessing or curse to it. They can determine its success or failure. Using the example in my last paragraph, if the employee turns out to be a gem then it may bring about unprecedented growth and success to the business. A disastrous employee might lead to disastrous results.

Not Alone

Hive is one of those projects that needs a community to run. No matter how much the developers build, innovate and create, there is simply no substitute for the community backing it. Without it, the project will simply be a grand vision one without any true sense of direction.

The Hive community impact on the project's success is well documented, as we'd be nowhere now without them. But as with every community, there are good members and not so good members. The vision has been laid out for everyone to follow, and it is left to us to either align or choose our own path.

Without a leader, (even though there is some form of leadership), the community takes initiative to drive the project towards success. Things like powering up, holding, marketing, activity and quality are just some examples of some angles the general community tends to drive and follow along.

When you realize that not all communities have this drive, then you'd better appreciate Hive for what it has become. Some projects are mere pumps and dump and there is always a great deal of distrust and manipulation in those communities. We can proudly say Hive isn't like that, and that alone is a rare find in the cryptoverse.

Conclusion

Hive provokes trust in the sense that it gives you a compelling reason to key into the vision. A lot of people who are here are squarely focused on the bigger picture, and the community helps sustain that vision.

Reputation is the utmost factor in Hive and with that comes trust for others to curate.
