Adjustable

Am trying to adjust to the pace of my new job, it has left me unable to divert attention to other things this period. At a point I was almost asking myself why I made the switch, because of the level of comfort I had with my previous job. I quickly realized it as normal though, and I've been putting in the effort required to adjust as quickly as possible. I've learned quite a bit in my adult life, but I think taking total control of my mind and sometimes my emotions stands out as the most important. This adjustment might have been viewed with a much different lens some years ago.

We should never be too busy to chase the things that are important to us. At some point, it is possible to drive into auto run when our bodies no longer feel the desire to sustain the momentum necessary to continue day to day living. As my dad often said, life can be monotonous and boring when we fail to find meaning in the things we do. We also quite often underestimate the small things that we do. I sometimes fall into the social media trap of scrolling mindlessly when am tired and that certainly never brings the meaning that is sought.

Time is the one thing that is in constant motion yet we almost act as if we have an abundance of it when we actually don't. It is comforting to believe that life eventually succumbs to our will and desires but the evidence suggests otherwise. There are points in life which I believe are critical points of opportunity and each point carries consequences for missing out on them. I certainly feel like I've missed out on a few, and as I age further am more sensitive to the opportunities that now come across.

That said, when it does feel like we're on the right track our dormant capacities awaken to reveal a sense of infinity. I've always felt like the World stops for me when am doing the things that my heart is set on. Even when it seems to take forever to actualise, there is a sense of peace that comes with maximizing the time before us. Am also reminded of my pursuits when the momentum seems to fade for a while and quickly get back to the striving horse. Time never feels like a waste when we're doing the things we're meant to do and that is an important distinction to note for the future.

Looks like you're going through a challenging but insightful adjustment period with your new job dear. Finding that balance between work and personal fulfillment can be very very tough, but it's rewarding when you start aligning with what truly matters to you. Wishing the best for you and happy weekends

Time is the one thing that is in constant motion, as plain as you say it friend. You have to adjust and cope. Most importantly, try your best to make the job entertaining so as to flow.
