#MARKETFRIDAY: SHOPPING AT THE BAKING SHOP CAUGHT UP WITH A HUGE INCREASE IN PRICE
Hello dearies...here we're at another round of @marketfriday ...a beautiful piece of an amazing community put up together by her royal majesty @dswigle ... Gracias ma'am....
So for this week's edition I take @marketfriday to my shopping at a cake shop, were I do all my shopping for anything I need for my confectionery business, here it is stock with all you ever need, for the note this is like a subsidiary of the maiin place which is more stock with lots and lots of materials, all your needs in one stock shop, so this were I buy all I need for production-cakes, pastries, SAMOSA, springroll, small chops package and lots more.....
But here's a thing on the early hours of today before I set out to go buy the things I need I already have an estimate of how much they will cost after making the list down, I still had some stuff left so I just need to get a few, had my estimate budget of things to buy...so when I got the shop, it was still very early as I met the sales girl trying to set things up
So I told her of the things I need which were one painter bucket (one of the stuffs used for measuring a quality of flour, it weighs about 3.5 kg)

of all purpose flour preferably Golden penny is the brand I use most often for baking at $3.09, but to my greatest shock it's as jumped up to $3.48, that's about additional $ $0.39.. that's big one time increase.
Now a bag of flour that was $36.11 is now selling for $38.68 an extra $2.58 increase in price

Next up was getting a crate of egg, well for today's purchase I think I'm a bit lucky cause this set of eggs are a way bigger than I thought, well normally I get a crate at $2.84, but as again there was a $0.13 additional price increase on a crates, I had to get one at $2.97 instead

Another item I got was a cholesterol free pure oil for my fries well, this the only normally item whose price didn't give me a goose bumps

The normal price for a bag of pop corn was $36.11, after I check in for this guess what it's now sold for $38.68...a big margin again...ha🤔🤔

Next up a role of kings margarine normal I would have gotten a carton of butter for this but I have spent far beyond my estimate so I just had to just got this for the time been may be later I can get the other ones

One of the basic reason for the hike in price recently in Nigeria there's been a removal of fuel subsidy so this basically affects the price of all goods and services in the country, the fact is Nigeria is a country that is 80% dependant on it's oil produce (crude)...and so any slight increase or degrees in the oil price affects basically everything in the ECONOMY...
Fuel subsidy is actually the amount of money government pays to oil companies to subsidize the sale of the produce so as to aid in economy boost and stable price of goods and services, but for the past years those funds meant for subsidy usually do not get to the oil companies some politicians will divert the funds and use them for personal gains, and so this administration decided to end it for all,
And so it's really really weighing so heavy on all of us the end users of this increase in price cause we pay more for what we usually buy less, still there is no increase in quantity or quantity produced
