The jobs I did to solve my financial situations
To be a man they say is not a day job and because of this we struggle hard each day to make ends meet to survive and also engage in jobs in other to find solutions or means to solve our financial problems even if half solved but a step is needed in doing so.
I have engage in several jobs just to make a living in other to survive and this struggle have started at the age of 16 where I had to work in other to pay for my school fees in secondary school. However my parents don't have the money to do so and in other for me not to be left out in going to school, i needed to work in fulfilling that dream of completing my education.
The first job I did was in a nylon factory where we produce polythene bags and nylon for packaging goods. This however was where my struggle started and the salary I was been paid was very small which was not up to 15$ then around 7 thousand naira in Nigeria currency.
I had no choice than to work since I have an important aim I wish to achieve so I started. Despite the salary been poor we do work both day and night just to satisfy customers demand to supply in time. The job wasn't easy but I had no choice than to continue. I worked for a year and in that process I was able to pay for my final examination which was WAEC and after writing the exam I stopped the work because my aim was fulfilled.
Then I also have plan of going to the university and still there wasn't any funds in going so I went in search of another job again and lucky enough for me I got a job in an Indian company which I believe I have shared my experience there in some of my previous post.
The Indian work was stressful but prefarable than my first job in the nylon factory but this job in the Indian company was really favourable to me because I was able to achieve and save enough in sponsoring myself to the university and by achieving that I spent three years in the company before leaving.
Though we also work both day and night in the company where it also involves shifting and this was how I was coping working under pressure before quitting.
Even while in the higher institution where I knew I wasn't working I still engage myself in doing stuffs just to make sure I buy handouts and settling some bills needed in school and this little jobs were painting people's houses and washing of cars just to help myself.
I eventually got a job that really helped me when in school and this job was working in a bar. However my aim was to go and study but when I realize I was going to need money to solve so many expenses, I then needed to engage myself in doing stuffs in other not to drop out from school and luckily for me I got the job.
Though it wasn't easy for me schooling and working when it wasn't a part time school I applied for but because I needed the money and there's probably no one in support at that moment I had no choice but to work.
I do attend classes by 7am till 3pm and then I resume work from 5pm to 2am then rest for a little while before going to school again. If you ask me how I cope I wouldn't explain but because I was determined to, it pave way for me. The job however was favourable because I save a lot to pay for my fees and other expenses needed and today am grateful that am a graduate taking that challenge to fulfill my dream of becoming a graduate and yeah I made mama proud.
from your explanation I can't deny that you are a human with a myriad of experiences, so many things you have been through my brother.
Just for the hustle to survive
Schooling and working is not an easy feat, one of them usually suffers. It takes a strong will and determination for success to make it despite all odds. But you made it happen. Good job...
