Wingin' it with the Birds
I've learned that photographing herons needs a lot of patience. I've never been able to get too close as they will just fly off to the other side of the lake.
This time, we got lucky at a local nature reserve. This grey heron stood like a statue with very little movement from any of us. Although, I'm sure it knew we were there.
The swans were mooching about in the car park, probably looking for food off visitors.
This car driver wasn't going anywhere quickly!
Herons and egrets both stand still for long periods when they are hunting for food and then suddenly lunge at an unsuspecting fish.
The last bird we spotted was the great crested grebe with its lovely plumage.
