Wednesday Walk Around Darwin Forest Holiday Park

For my #wednesdaywalk initiated by @tattoodjay, we had a walk around Darwin Forest Holiday Park.

My friend was thinking about booking a few days here and wanted to look around it. Along with her dogs, we started in the forest next to the park.

Technically, only people who are staying in the park are allowed to walk around, but we ignored the 'no public access' signs and carried on! Members of the public are allowed to use the on site cafe, so we thought if we get caught we could always say we were going for a coffee!

The lodges are quite nice but very expensive. There is a swimming pool on site and various activities for children.

There was a cycle and dog wash area. We thought it was a great idea as during bad weather your dog or your bike are going to get very muddy in the forest.

There was lots of different things to explore in the park, including a great looking carved totem pole and a lovely fairy door.

There was a carved hedgehog and a proper hedgehog house. Not sure if anyone was living in it.

I particularly liked the carved drum kit and guitars.

The home-made bug hotels are becoming quite popular. It is a safe haven for the bugs to live and hibernate in.

These iconic, british phone boxes are still in use on the site. Always, good to have a defibrillator as well!

It was a lovely park, with lots of things to see. It was very peaceful, surrounded by the forest and wildlife. My friend has just got to save up now!
