Tattoo Tales: Getting Inked

I'd been thinking of getting another tattoo for some time. It was only a random meeting that I decided where I'd actually go for my tattoo. I just happened to be stood in a queue at my local fish and chip shop when in walked a chap with some good looking tattoos on his arm. I asked him where he'd had them done. It stuck in my mind for a while before I checked the tattooist out online and I liked what I saw. You should always do your research and check out people's work before booking.

So I found myself in the tattoo shop this morning, having given some thought as to what tattoo I wanted. I settled on the wording 'Me Myself I' on my ankle. The words would remind me to look after myself. It is also the title of a Joan Armatrading song that I like that is all about feeling comfortable in your own company. Perhaps people are too young to even know who Joan Armatrading is ...

After we decided on the font, Paul went to prepare the room while I took a few photos. I liked the definition of a tattoo artist on the wall, which is a 'highly skilled professional doodler that leaves their mark on people forever.'

I do feel comfortable in tattoo shops. They seem to like the things I like, such as skulls and severed heads. 😆

Chocolate and sweets were on offer, but as I'm watching what I eat, I refrained from having any. It nearly killed me though!

This was Paul's much loved dog, Rogue, who is no longer with us. He named the shop after him. Animals leave a big hole in our hearts when they leave us.

The tattoo didn't take too long. Apparently, I've got good skin which was nice to know.

I was very pleased with the end result, and I didn't feel a thing. 😜
