Linacre Reservoir Circular Walk: The Calm before the Storm

(Edited)

We wrapped up and had a stroll around Linacre Reservoir. Even though it was a bit nippy, the sun was out. Apparently, Storm Babet is on its way, bringing rain and strong winds, so we thought we'd get some fresh air into our lungs before it arrived.

We followed the well trodden footpath through the wooded area.

There was a lovely ladybird on the wooden bench. Gardeners like them as they eat the aphids. I don't think there's many people who don't like them. They are quite pretty.

The fly agarics are finally appearing. They are poisonous, but I don’t think they will kill you unless you eat copious amounts. They do look cool. I'm hoping a lot more will come through in the next few weeks.

We made a quick stop to play 'King of the Castle' with the pooch on the fallen tree.

It was really nice when the sun managed to creep through the trees.

The hawthorn berries are supposed to have medicinal properties for your digestive system, heart, and high blood pressure. We used to try them as kids. They were a bit acrid tasting, so I wouldn't recommend them.

I think I will stick to walking as a way of keeping fit. It keeps my weight down as I'm prone to the odd bar of chocolate, and it certainly improves your mood. It was a nice scenic walk with nothing too strenuous.

Such a lovely walk in the park or woods. Those hawthorn berries are bright red! Very beautiful contrast against sea of green. I wanna walk in wooded areas everyday for at least at hour to keep fit and cheerful.
