A Walk in the Countryside: Avoiding the Rain

Starting off my walk, it was a lovely day with a clear blue sky and reasonably warm.

As I navigated my way through the stone stile, I couldn't help but notice I had to breathe in a bit more because I'm still carrying my winter weight!

The footpath ahead seemed inviting, but not so much the dark clouds that had suddenly appeared threatening rain. Despite the ominous weather, I carried on just hoping it didn't rain as I was only halfway through my walk. There's nothing worse than getting wet and not being able to do anything about it.

Through the wooded area, I stumbled upon some unusually large fungi. I'd never seen any so big before.

As I walked back through the village, I noticed a heron landing on someone's roof top for a moment's rest. It then flew off towards the pond.

As I followed the heron to the pond, a pair of Canada geese were cleaning their feathers in the water. They were doing it for quite some time until they were satisfied that they were clean again.

A mallard duck was stood there watching, wondering what all the fuss was about.

The good news is, it returned to a lovely blue sky, so I didn't get wet after all.
