A 'Brew with a View' at the Attenborough Nature Reserve

Going over to the next county of Nottingham proved a good idea as it was a lot warmer even though it was only about 40 minutes away. We called in at the Reflections Cafe at the Attenborough Nature Reserve, where they promised a 'brew with a view'. It was definitely true as there were some lovely views over the lakes.

There was outside seating on the balcony, but we wanted a bit of shade, so we chose to sit inside. The menu was on a rolling board that was similar to the ones at coach and train stations. If you can't decide straight away what you want to order, you have to wait for the board to roll back around, which was a bit annoying. The woman behind the counter said other people take a photo of the menu, but why should diners have to do that?

Anyway, after an iffy start, we ordered a latte and a macchiato. I've only started to drink the macchiato recently and really enjoy them. I always regret not having a large one.

We also had chunky vegan chilli with vegan cheese, salad, toasted ciabatta, ham and brie panini. It all looked great and tasted great! I would definitely have it again.

It was lovely being surrounded by water. Afterwards, we did go outside on the balcony to watch the swans go by.

Lovely photos and the food looks amazing. I haven't had a sandwich like that recently and of course the coffee:)

I could have had a massive bowl of that chilli! I always think they give you children's portions. 😁

It looks amazing. I had to zoom into the photo. I know what you mean about the portion seeming small when the food is good :)

This looks like a beautiful place to enjoy a cup of coffee, and the food looks awesome too! Glad the rotating menu didn't stop you from finding these awesome picks! ☕️
