THE UNIVERSAL WORLD AND THE SOCIAL MEDIA.

The social media is a platform or a forum created by high modern technological advancement with the use of internet for easy dissemination of information and ideas in form of either voice note, pictures, videos and typed message or codes that are shared between two or more people.
The world is fast growing and allots of things has change as well. The ways in which information and ideas are shared has also change; this sophisticated technological advancement has made the world visible at the peak of our finger, making connection between different parts of the world easy.
Back then in the olden days where our parents use to tell us how every community must have a town crier whose solemn duties is to receive information and instruction from the ruling king and pass it round the villagers; this town crier has to walk round the village and pass the information he received and this implies that some part of the community will somehow got the information before some other part of the same community, some might take two days before it reaches them.

People have to gather around a big tree towards evening time to have fun, the young boys were seen displaying their strength in wrestling competition while the young beautiful ladies dance round the square and sing joyfully. This memorable experience are however not replayed except when organize another period.

But today with advancement of social media tools like face book, instagram, twitter,Ticktock, Snapchat and many others, the story has changed completely because information are distributed to wide range of citizen of a country directly from the president desk down to everyone at ease. Distance is never a barrier and multiple individuals get the same information at the same time.

HERE ARE SOME ADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL MEDIA.

1.JOB OPPORTUNITY/BUSINESS ADVERTISMENT.
People are idle and jobless due to unaware opportunity which await them out there, and many business are not excelling well because of lack of awareness their costumer have on the product and service they offer. But with the help of social media platform, one can come across a company who are looking for who to employed, and many business owner can advertise their product and service to a large population thereby increasing their value.

2.LEARNING/SKILLS ACQUISITION

Social media platform like google class room and youtub, host series of learning activities from all field of wok. The process is hosted by and instructor to larger audience at the comfort of their home and promote repetition of said information.
Through this media, skills are also learned from expert.

I remember there was a day I got tired with the way I use to knot my tie, I needed a new way but could not got anyone to help me, I picked my phone and search on how to knot tie on you tube, several ways were displayed, I click on one of the method and learn it.

3.RAPID CONNECTIVITY WITH PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT PART OF THE WORLD:
The social media allow connectivity between far and near people, and make it easy to have new friends and share our perspective views. Some people where able to fish out their life partners and spouse from the social media interaction.

These are just few advantages of social media; but to everything that has advantages, it likely has it own disadvantages.

SOME DISADVANTAGES OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA ARE HIGHLIGHTED BELOW’

1.BUPLICATION AND CIRCULATION OF FAKE INFORMATION: with social media aids, a lot of misguided information are on daily increase which make it difficult for some one to distinguish a genuine information and a fake one.
Thousands of articles are publish just for the crave of likes and comment which the content of the information are not always true as the seem to be.

2.ABUSE TO PHYSICAL BONDING: back then we use to visit our friends and collogue, gather at the village square to have funs, there was a face to face contact which strengthen our relationship but all of these are now in the past because you see someone having over one thousand friends on social media but hardly have two friends in real life, we have narrow every form of mutualism and bonding to social media. Neighbors only great each other on media, children only greet and chat with their parents on media.

3.REBELLION TO SELF CONFIDENT: many people out there are admin of different social media group; they anchor series of activities in the air but lack the esteem to 2munite speech to an audience without tremble. You will see someone very outspoken and active on social media, expressing all sort of seriousness and boldness while chatting on media but cannot confidently chart and express his/her self even while trying to toast a lady.
4.DUAL LIFE STYLE
Social media has made it easy for some users to appear rich and wealthy on the media platform while they are living in abject poverty and sufferings; many people package their profile very well on social media handles but left their life to be shatter and unpackaged on real life, we look cooperate but not really okay in life. You might even come across a female handles but the real owner is a male and vice versa.

5.POOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE:
The high sensitivity of student to social life and social media has made a lot of student to perform very poor in their studies due to high time wasted on viewing status and chatting instead of studying their books. Many graduate could not draft a complete format of letter writing, there is poor use vocabulary and wrong spelling because letter writing has lost it value in the midst of social media, student depending on artificial intelligence to write exams. People don visit library anymore, they don’t go to physical class any because we have narrow our education route to Google classes and YouTube channels.

IN CONCLUSION 
Social media is a place to be and a platform to belong. It has impacted almost every segment of our life in many ways and has also adversely affected our society drastically.

Whether we like it or not, I think social media has come to stay and to be honest, this platform was design to ease the way we interact with each other in the society, the intentions are genuine; but it is we the users that make it to be chaotic with deviants’ implications. So I urge all social media users to be careful on how they interact, and how they post stuff. Not everything is fake and not all is real. Don’t be yolk with media activities and forget the things that really matters to a successful life.
