We have all had embarrassing moments or times we feel embarrassed for someone. Was there a time you received love texts or gifts that made you cringe? Or did it happen to someone close to you?

I think in cases like this, ladies are always at the receiving end of this cringe kind of love text that could make their jaw hit the ground after reading it and most times from strangers you do not even know. They just come into your DM especially Facebook while some of them would get your number from a group you both are in and decide to send you their heartfelt love text without even thinking about the person who is at the receiving end.

There was a period when I lost my phone and because of the nature of my job, had to get another one but a smaller one and I went ahead to purchase a new sim since I am not the patient type to want to go for retrieving sim and all the stress. Well, a few weeks or a month after I got that new sim, I started receiving calls from unknown numbers calling me another name, and the funny thing is they were all guys from the Southern part and all of them were calling me the same name "JOY", so I felt maybe it was lost sim and all of that, but I bought it from an MTN shop, so I always politely tell them it was a wrong number and that my name was not JOY.

From the way they talked, before they realized that it was another person using the sim, I guess they had a close relationship with the former owner of the sim or whatever, so some of them would tell me they were sorry about the disturbance even though the number was saved as Joy and would stop calling but one person never stopped calling and migrated to chatting me on WhatsApp after I got a better phone.

Well, it wasn't much of an issue with me because we were far away and after I told him I wasn't the person he was looking for, he still insisted we be friends and I felt, why not, I mean we are far from each other, so what harm would it cause on me.

After a while of being suspicious, I felt comfortable talking to him and we became very close friends, until early this year, in January precisely when I woke up to a lovey-divey text message from him. Just maybe I took it too far because of the kind of person that I am and just maybe that particular day, I woke up from the wrong side of the bed, but I told him how his text wasn't welcomed and that was how we went our separate ways.

His text says;

"Good morning my better half, every day I wake up with you in my mind and I can not wait one day to have you in my arms and imprint my love for you on all parts of your body with my touch and kisses, you are the one I want to make my wife, you are the one meant for me, you are the one my heart beats and yearns for and I can not wait for when that will happen".

When I was done reading the text, I had to scroll through all our chats, to confirm where I had ever led him on or made him think I had a thing for me, and from our chats, it was just formal greetings and nothing lovey-dovey or showing we ever had such discussion.

The text just wasn't making sense and those words were too sensitive for my kind of person, he still referred to marriage, which was even a topic I wasn't interested in, then coming out from someone I saw as a friend and nothing more, we never for one day have had such discussion, I knew it was time to draw the line, and that was exactly what I did and ever since then, he never messaged me or acknowledged he saw my reply to his message.
