Blessings and lessons

source

There are people who come into your life for a reason, to make you feel something or teach you some lessons. Having experienced both, I am convinced that every person we meet is placed in our lives for a reason.

I used to think that only people who made me happy were important. After that, I met a big fish, the likes of which swim by only very rarely. But rather, it was reminiscent of the person I was becoming, not making me happier, like a mirror. It was difficult for me at first and many frustrations occurred. Yet, as time went on, I realized that this was just a part of my healing process, as those who gave me comfort were.

But the people who make a place in your heart are true blessings. We need them to remind us that we exist and then our existence counts. They give off feelings of coziness and protection, they are someone we know loves us simply by being there for us. However, even these people can teach the greatest lesson of all to humankind, the power of gratitude and kindness.

That person is sometimes a lesson and even a blessing. They are a double-edged sword that will either cut you or make your spirit soar, depending on where you are in life and sometimes even how old you are. Life is so fascinating, it weaves in people and events all to help the best of who you are becoming emerge.

So I have grown to appreciate everyone who enters into my life, no matter how long or short they stay. Those uncomfortable lessons are needed. And within their blessings, there are occurrences that remind us what is yet beautiful.

They are the scars at each intersection that cause us to grow. They are both treasures in their own way, a teachable moment or grace that makes its home in the core of our heart.
