Kimba on the beach ⛱️🐾. [ESP-ENG]
ENGLISH VERSION
Kimba is an indoor feline, pampered and a bit skittish, but his curiosity made me think he would enjoy a change of scenery. So two weeks ago, we decided to take him to the beach.
I put him in Lucero's carrier backpack, a sort of mobile fortress from which he could observe the outside world. My husband carried him and placed the bag on his chest to calm him in case he panicked. As we pedaled down the road, we could see his head peeking out the window. His eyes, big and round, moved from side to side, taking in every detail of the landscape.
When we reached the beach, I carefully took him out of the backpack. At first, Kimba was reluctant to leave the safety of his carrier. His whiskers quivered and his eyes widened like saucers at the vastness of the sea. The soft, warm sand contrasted with the cold surface of his backpack, and the sound of the waves was deafening to his delicate ears.
With patience and affection, I encouraged him to explore. He was even afraid to climb a small tree, so I settled him in it, caressed him gently and spoke to him in a sweet voice. Little by little, Kimba began to relax and I took the opportunity to do a photo session with him.
When I deemed it prudent, we placed him in the sand which he cautiously sniffed, then dared to take a few shy steps and finally lay down to bask in the sun.
Watching Kimba enjoy the beach was a rewarding experience. His transformation from a scared cat to a curious (albeit nervous) explorer filled us with joy. We were very respectful of his feelings and when we saw he wasn't comfortable we showed him the bag and he quietly slipped in for a nap until it was time to go home.
