Un día en el Zoológico || A day at the Zoo 🌻🦁🐯

Todos necesitamos un día de descanso, especialmente cuando hemos tenido tantos días de estrés seguidamente. Por esa razón, desde hace bastante tiempo tenía el anhelo de visitar el zoológico de mi ciudad✨ Es una relación amor-odio, detesto ver animales encerrados, porque sabemos que ellos merecen estar libres, sanos, en su hábitat natural. Pero, al mismo tiempo, muchos animales que llegan a los zoológicos han sido rescatados de un lugar cruel, como circos.

Así que siento que visitar un zoológico, gastar mi dinero allí, puede ayudar al mantenimiento del lugar para que los animales puedan estar más tranquilos. Y, realmente, fue un lindo día, y por eso quería compartirlo con ustedes💖

We all need a day off, especially when we have had so many stressful days in a row. For that reason, for quite some time I had a longing to visit the zoo in my city✨ It's a love-hate relationship, I hate to see animals locked up, because we know they deserve to be free, healthy, in their natural habitat. But, at the same time, many animals that come to zoos have been rescued from a cruel place, such as circuses.

So I feel that visiting a zoo, spending my money there, can help the maintenance of the place so the animals can be calmer. And, really, it was a nice day, and that's why I wanted to share it with you💖

Mi familia es unida, y quiero a mis primos como si fueran hermanos, así que estaba muy alegre que mi prima (@milabarrios) nos visitara desde Caracas por una semana. Aprovechando que todos estamos en temporada de vacaciones (que pronto se acabará 😅) la llevamos de paseo por diferentes lugares, y la invité a acompañarme al zoológico. Un día de picnic, caminatas, animales y chismes.

He visitado este zoológico desde mi infancia, y obviamente ahora no es como era antes, con sus elefantes, jirafas, rinocerontes y otros animales increíbles. Sin embargo, considero que está bien cuidado, no hay tanta variedad de animales, pero los que hay se ven en buen estado.

My family is close, and I love my cousins as if they were brothers and sisters, so I was very happy that my cousin (@milabarrios) was visiting us from Caracas for a week. Taking advantage of the fact that we are all on vacation season (which will soon be over 😅) we took her on a tour of different places, and I invited her to accompany me to the zoo. A day of picnics, walks, animals and gossip.

I have visited this zoo since my childhood, and obviously now it is not like it used to be, with its elephants, giraffes, rhinos and other incredible animals. However, I consider that it is well cared for, there is not so much variety of animals, but the ones that are there look in good condition.

Tengo la costumbre de comenzar el recorrido por el camino hacia la izquierda, dado que así siempre lo hacían mis maestras en los paseos escolares🤣 Es el área de África, pero ya no hay tantos animales del continente (creo que todos extrañamos a la elefanta rescatada). No obstante, la Cebra estaba muy linda y se acercó a nosotras, y el Babuino posó para la foto con su buena figura. Y creo que los Hipopótamos son una familia de tres miembros.

También vimos unos caballos un poco... diferentes. Tenían la forma típica de un caballo, pero marcas como una Cebra. ¿Un híbrido? Solo sabemos que se veían saludables, y eso es lo importante.

I have the habit of starting the tour on the path to the left, since that's how my teachers always did it on school field trips🤣 It's the Africa area, but there aren't so many animals from the continent anymore (I think we all miss the rescued elephant). Nevertheless, the Zebra was very cute and came up to us, and the Baboon posed for the photo with his good figure. And I think the Hippos are a family of three.

We also saw some horses that were a little... different. They had the typical horse shape, but Zebra-like markings. A hybrid? We just know they looked healthy, and that's what's important.

Cerca del área había un gran espacio lleno de Burros, increíblemente adorables y amigables, que estaban cerca de las rejas rascándose. Dado que estaban tan cerca me permitió tocarlo, sentía que me miraba pidiendo un poco de cariño, y pueden ver en su expresión de que él lo estaba disfrutando.

Luego, de la nada, se comenzaron a acercar más, los cuáles creo que eran su familia, porque había uno pequeñito, hermoso. Todos querían cariño.

Near the area there was a large space full of incredibly adorable and friendly Donkeys, who were near the fences scratching themselves. Because they were so close he allowed me to touch him, I could feel him looking at me asking for some affection, and you can see in his expression that he was enjoying it.

Then, out of nowhere, more began to approach, which I think were his family, because there was a tiny, beautiful one. They all wanted affection

Proseguimos hasta el área de los felinos. Y, sin duda, puedo decir que no importa el tamaño todos son gatitos. Al mediodía estaban durmiendo, tomando la siesta (igual que hacen mis gatos a esa hora). Pero lo más divertidos fueron el Tigre y el Puma, dormidos con las patas arribas, en la sombra, felices de la vida, sin ninguna preocupación. El Jaguar estaba dormido más decente en su casa, mientras que el León estaba despierto observando al público. Rugiendo a todos. Es triste ver al "rey de la selva" detrás de una reja, pero es más horrible verlos en un circo, tratados como si fueran juguetes.

Y otro que no se encontraba en la misma área, pero también entra en esta familia, es el Cunaguaro, obviamente también tomando su siesta, pero cuando nos sintió se nos quedó mirando como lo hace mi gata cuando la despierto.

We proceeded to the feline area. And, without a doubt, I can say that no matter what size they are, they are all kittens. By noon they were sleeping, napping (just like my cats do at that time). But the most fun were the Tiger and the Puma, sleeping with their paws up, in the shade, happy as can be, without a care in the world. The Jaguar was asleep more decently at home, while the Lion was awake watching the crowd. Roaring at everyone. It is sad to see the "king of the jungle" behind a fence, but it is more horrible to see them in a circus, treated as if they were toys.

And another one that was not in the same area, but also enters in this family, is the Cunaguaro, obviously also taking his nap, but when he felt us he just stared at us like my cat does when I wake her up.

Hay otra variedad de animales, desde distintas aves hasta animales de granja o haciendas. Por alguna extraña razón hay muchas Avestruces (las cuales mi prima le tiene miedo, así que obviamente me acercaba a ellas).

Cómo estábamos a horas de mediodía, vimos como alimentaban a varios animales, algunos de ellos persiguiendo a sus cuidadores porque sabían que era hora del almuerzo. Bastantes Chivos y Cerdos seguían de un lado a otro al muchacho que los alimenta en el Área de Contacto.

There are a variety of other animals, from different birds to farm animals. For some strange reason there are many Ostriches (which my cousin is afraid of, so obviously I approached them).

As we were in the middle of the day, we saw several animals being fed, some of them chasing their keepers because they knew it was lunch time. Quite a few Goats and Pigs were following the boy who feeds them in the Contact Area back and forth.

De igual manera, hay diversidad de Primates. Mis favoritos siempre serán los Monos Araña, siento que puedes sentarte a observarlos y no te aburres, ellos tienen su propio estilo de vida. Dado que igual a todos los primates, son increíblemente inteligentes.

También vimos como uno de los Chimpancé, utilizaba una hoja para acercar a la reja una golosina que le habían tirado (a pesar de que no puedes alimentar a los animales con esas comidas). Había un Mono Capuchino que comenzó a esconder las frutas de su almuerzo apenas nos vio🤭

Likewise, there is a diversity of Primates. My favorite will always be the Spider Monkeys, I feel you can sit and watch them and not get bored, they have their own lifestyle. Since like all primates, they are incredibly intelligent.

We also saw how one of the Chimpanzees used a leaf to bring a treat that had been thrown to him closer to the fence (even though you can't feed the animals those foods). There was a Capuchin Monkey that started to hide the fruits of his lunch as soon as he saw us🤭

Hay muchos más animales que no les tomé fotografía, pero para ya ir finalizando la publicación les mostraré cuatro que me gustó ver. Primero, el manatí✨ Desde hace tiempo he querido visitar el zoológico especialmente por tener un vistazo de éstos animales, que son preciosos. Hay tres, que parecen querer mucho a su cuidador que los acariciaba cuando sacaban su cabeza del agua. Y aunque no pueden salir del agua, por su increíble peso, con solo ver un poco de ellos es suficiente.

Otra especie que disfruto ver es el Cóndor Andino, un ave que, tal como dice su nombre, procede de nuestras montañas andinas, y que lamentablemente se encuentra en peligro de extinción. También me alegró ver una pareja de Mapaches, que se encuentran entre mis animales favoritos, junto a las Nutrias. Esta última fue un poco triste porque se encuentra sola, y creo que es una especie que necesita socializar con otros.

There are many more animals that I didn't take pictures of, but to end the publication I will show you four that I liked to see. First, the manatee✨ I have been wanting to visit the zoo for a long time, especially to have a glimpse of these animals, which are beautiful. There are three, who seem to really love their keeper who was petting them when they were sticking their heads out of the water. And although they can't get out of the water, because of their incredible weight, just seeing a little bit of them is enough.

Another species I enjoy seeing is the Andean Condor, a bird that, as its name says, comes from our Andean mountains, and is unfortunately in danger of extinction. I was also happy to see a couple of Raccoons, which are among my favorite animals, along with the Otters. The latter was a bit sad because it is alone, and I think it is a species that needs to socialize with others.

Y dejé lo mejor para el final. Mi encuentro con Bambi💖 Hay un pareja de Venados, bastantes amigables, que se come las hoja de las ramas que les acerque. Pero quedé sorprendida cuando uno de ellos, el macho, comenzó a lamer mis dedos🥺 Pensé que era porque confundió mis dedos con una rama, pero lo hizo varias veces, y fue muy tierno. Como ser lamida por mi perra, como un gesto de cariño.

And I saved the best for last. My encounter with Bambi💖 There is a couple of Deer, quite friendly, that eats the leaves of the branches I bring near them. But I was surprised when one of them, the male, started licking my fingers🥺 I thought it was because he mistook my fingers for a branch, but he did it several times, and it was very tender. Like being licked by my bitch, like a gesture of affection.

Así que si te encuentras en Barquisimeto, ve un día al Parque Zoológico Bararida, para que puedas tener un día diferente, salir de la rutina, y brindar un poco de apoyo a este lugar icónico de nuestra ciudad💖 Hay varias actividades para niños y adultos dentro del recinto, nosotras no pudimos realizarlas porque debíamos ir a otro lugar después, pero te invito a que vayas con tiempo y ganas de relajarte✨
