El Studio Ghibli sabe cómo elaborar historias maravillosas, con una trama interesante y que te llega al corazón, con una animación fluida y realista, y un dibujo lleno de colores y detalles. La vida se ve distinta cuando terminas de ver una película del Studio Ghibli, sientes que algo dentro de ti es diferente, le otorgas un nuevo valor a lo que te rodea… o al menos así me siento yo cada vez que veo una de estas películas✨

Me parecen tan hermosas que se han convertido en ese lugar seguro cuando la vida no está fluyendo del todo bien y necesito un respiro de tranquilidad y esperanza. Por lo tanto, en esta ocasión te hablaré de una de mis favoritas; últimamente tenía la necesidad de volver a verla, no sé por qué, era una corazonada; hice caso a mis instintos, la vi y recordé porque me encanta🥺 Así es, te daré mi opinión (con un poquito de spoilers) de "El Increíble Castillo Vagabundo"✨

Studio Ghibli knows how to make wonderful stories, with an interesting plot that touches your heart, with a fluid and realistic animation, and a drawing full of colors and details. Life looks different when you finish watching a Studio Ghibli movie, you feel that something inside you is different, you give a new value to what surrounds you... or at least that's how I feel every time I watch one of these movies✨

I find them so beautiful that they have become that safe place when life is not flowing so well, and I need a breath of tranquility and hope. So, this time I will tell you about one of my favorites; lately I had the need to watch it again, I don't know why, it was a hunch; I listened to my instincts, I watched it and I remembered why I love it🥺 That's right, I will give you my opinion (with a bit of spoilers) of "Howl's Moving Castle"✨

La joven Sophie es una chica que trabaja en la tienda de su difunto padre, elaborando sombreros. Un día que Sophie sale a visitar a su hermana, se encuentra con unos oficiales que comienzan a molestarla, y allí conoce a Howl, quien llega a rescatarla. Howl es un mago que tiene mala reputación entre los aldeanos, debido a que sabe cómo "robar el corazón de una chica", pero protege a Sophie y la pone a salvo antes de despedirse.

Debido a este suceso, "La Bruja del Páramo", una mujer que odia a Howl por un antiguo rechazo y ha perdido su camino en la magia, visita a Sophie en la tienda y la hechiza, convirtiéndola en una anciana, como un 'castigo' para Howl, y con la trampa de que no puede decir lo que sucedió y revelar su identidad.

De esa manera, Sophie huye de su casa para buscar la ayuda de Howl, buscar alguna manera de romper su hechizo. Este mago vive dentro de un "castillo" bastante peculiar, que puede moverse a cualquier sitio como un automóvil. Cuando lo encuentra y logra entrar al lugar se hace pasar como una anciana que no tiene a dónde ir y se ofrece a ser la criada de la residencia. Allí conoce formalmente a Howl y todos sus compañeros dentro del castillo, y a pesar de no poder hablar abiertamente sobre lo que le sucedió, todos saben que ella está bajo un hechizo, pero la única persona que puede revertirlo es ella misma✨

Young Sophie is a girl who works in her late father's store, making hats. One day when Sophie goes out to visit her sister, she meets some officers who start to bother her, and there she meets Howl, who arrives to rescue her. Howl is a wizard who has a bad reputation among the villagers, because he knows how to "steal a girl's heart", but he protects Sophie and brings her to safety before saying goodbye.

Because of this event, "The Witch of the Moor", a woman who hates Howl because of an old rejection and has lost her way in magic, visits Sophie in the store and casts a spell on her, turning her into an old woman, as a 'punishment' for Howl, and with the catch that she cannot tell what happened and reveal her identity.

Thus, Sophie runs away from home to seek Howl's help, to find some way to break his spell. This wizard lives inside a rather peculiar "castle" that can move anywhere like a car. When she finds it and manages to enter the place, she poses as an old woman who has nowhere to go and offers to be the maid of the residence. There she formally meets Howl and all his companions inside the castle, and despite not being able to talk openly about what happened to her, everyone knows that she is under a spell, but the only person who can reverse it is herself✨

¿Una historia de amor, llena de magia? Es el tema que más amo ver. Desde el principio de la película hasta el final estuve completamente atrapada con la historia. Me enamoró, Howl se robó el corazón de esta chica😂 Pero hay temas en específico que me gustaría comentar a más profundidad, así que continúa leyendo.

A love story, full of magic? It's the one I love to watch the most. From the beginning of the movie to the end, I was completely caught up with the story. I fell in love, Howl stole this girl's heart😂 But there are specific themes I'd like to comment on in more depth, so read on.

Considero que la naturaleza de los personajes hacen mágica esta película. Todos representan un punto vital en la trama, sin alguno de ellos nada sería tan sorprendente, pero voy a enfocarme en los dos protagonistas.

Sophie es una chica normal, dedicada a la costura de sombreros. Y podrías decir que estuvo en el "lugar equivocado, momento equivocado", pero considero que ella se encontró con su destino, y estuvo "en el lugar correcto, en el momento correcto". Sophie y Howl estaban destinados a encontrarse.

I believe that the nature of the characters make this film magical. All of them represent a vital point in the plot, without some of them nothing would be so amazing, but I will focus on the two main characters.

Sophie is a normal girl, dedicated to sewing hats. And you could say she was in the "wrong place, wrong time", but I consider that she met her destiny, and was "in the right place, at the right time". Sophie and Howl were destined to meet.

Ella es un personaje que admiro, porque la ves tan pequeña, callada y tranquila, pero es sumamente fuerte y decidida cuando se lo propone. Adoro la manera en que ella se adapta al hechizo, pudo haber creado un drama y tirarse a morir, pero darse por vencida no va con Sophie; ella aceptó su condición, le restó importancia a su apariencia física, y salió a buscar la manera de volver a la normalidad de su vida. Y su hechizo fue muy interesante, porque a medida que se va aceptando a sí misma, que se permite ser libre, cuando no es consciente de su físico, cuando se deja llevar por sus emociones, el hechizo se reduce y vuelve a ser ella misma (aunque no se da cuenta).

Pero, en serio, qué frustración cuando ve sus manitos arrugadas y no sabe qué hacer. Además, el hecho de que no pueda hablar sobre el hechizo aumenta la impotencia. Y a pesar de que su cuerpo tenía las limitaciones naturales de una mujer anciana, ella siguió adelante. Desde el principio vemos que Sophie es una persona madura e inteligente, reservada e introvertida, pero muy astuta. Realmente adoro a esa chica💕

She is a character I admire, because you see her so small, quiet and calm, but she is extremely strong and determined when she sets her mind to it. I love the way she adapts to the spell, she could have created drama and thrown herself to die, but giving up doesn't go with Sophie; she accepted her condition, downplayed her physical appearance, and went out to find a way to get back to the normalcy of her life. And her spell was very interesting, because as she accepts herself, as she allows herself to be free, when she isn't conscious of her physique, when she lets herself be carried away by her emotions, the spell lessens, and she becomes herself again (although she doesn't realize it).

But seriously, how frustrating when she sees her little hands shriveled up and doesn't know what to do. Plus, the fact that she can't talk about the spell adds to the helplessness. And even though her body had the natural limitations of an old woman, she kept going. From the beginning we see that Sophie is a mature and intelligent person, reserved and introverted, but very astute. I really adore that girl💕

"What's the point of living if I'm not beautiful?", Howl exclaims when Sophie mixes up his "hair dyes", and he goes from dazzling blonde, to a mysterious black-haired. That was one of my favorite scenes, I laughed the entire time it lasted, even though the poor guy really went into meltdown. Literally a nervous and dramatic breakdown. I don't blame him, because that could easily be me when I'm having a bad hair day.

I love Howl💕 From the first moment he appeared. He is so kind, cares about everyone, intelligent, and very realistic, in the sense that it's easy to identify with him. Has anyone ever felt afraid of encountering a superior and power figure? Has anyone gone through a crisis because something doesn't happen the way they wanted it to? He goes through different situations that anyone could also go through, and that makes him feel real.

Las interacciones entre Howl y Sophie son preciosas, y se roban los suspiros de muchos. Es la clase de romance tierno y sano, que permite sacar la mejor versión del otro, que muchos desean encontrar.

El poder de Howl es demasiado grande, y si lo usa por mucho tiempo y sin medir su intensidad, puede consumirlo. The interactions between Howl and Sophie are precious, and steal the sighs of many. It's the kind of tender, wholesome romance that brings out the best version of each other that many wish to find.

Howl's power is too great, and if he uses it for too long and without measuring its intensity, it can consume him. He has his inner demons tormenting him, as many of us do, and the important thing the film teaches us is that we should not go through those dark moments alone, that sometimes it is necessary to have a sincere person to accompany you in your process, just as Howl had Sophie, who encouraged him, accepted him and supported him at every moment.

Sin importar la mala reputación que tienen los magos, especialmente Howl, que todos comentan que "rompe", "roba", y hasta que se "come" los corazones de las chicas jóvenes, Sophie se dio la oportunidad de conocerlo y acompañarlo, y descubrir quién realmente era él. And then she accepted and loved him just as he was. While Howl irritates him several things Sophie does, like cleaning the house😂 which generates several misunderstandings, since he has order in his mess, but he knew she was like that, and respected her essence; besides, he knew Sophie had a low esteem towards herself, so he looked for a way to validate her emotions, to remind her how wonderful she was.

La película no gira solo en el romance y la magia, hay varios temas muy interesantes que abarca la trama. Por ejemplo, Howl tiene distintas identidades para pasar desapercibido y no ser atrapado, y la magia de su castillo le permite tener una "casa" en diferentes lugares, al mismo tiempo. Así nadie sospechaba, porque nadie podría estar en diferentes sitios simultáneamente. Me encanta esa idea de "puerta mágica" que abre a diferentes partes. Son cuatro puertas, una lleva un pueblo, otra a la ciudad (supongo que la capital), otra es la verdadera del castillo de Howl, y la cuarta es… un lugar que solo conoce Howl.

Otra cosa importante es que el país está en guerra, vemos las luchas entre ambos bandos y la manera en qué muchas personas inocentes salen heridas y afectadas, pueblos destruidos y la necesidad de migrar. Dejando claro que la guerra es solo enviar inocentes a luchar en las peleas de otros, y que el daño lo lleva quien menos lo merece. La cosa es que el Reino necesita a los magos de su lado para atacar las tropas enemigas, sin embargo, Howl se niega a hacer eso, y lo vemos luchando tanto contra el ejército de la nación como con el enemigo, porque sin importar el bando solo iba a causar dolor y destrucción.

The movie doesn't just revolve around romance and magic, there are several very interesting themes that the plot encompasses. For example, Howl has different identities to go unnoticed and not get caught, and the magic of his castle allows him to have a "house" in different places at the same time. That way no one was suspicious, because no one could be in different places simultaneously. I love that idea of a "magic door" that opens to different parts. There are four doors, one leads to a village, another to the city (I guess the capital), another is the real one to Howl's castle, and the fourth is... a place only Howl knows about.

Another important thing is that the country is at war, we see the fights between both sides and the way in which many innocent people are injured and affected, villages destroyed and the need to migrate. Making it clear that war is just sending innocents to fight in the fights of others, and that the damage is borne by those who deserve it the least. The thing is that the Kingdom needs the wizards on their side to attack the enemy troops, however, Howl refuses to do that, and we see him fighting both against the nation's army and the enemy, because no matter the side they were only going to cause pain and destruction.

Algo que caracteriza a las películas del Studio Ghibli es su maravillosa animación, en general, todo está increíblemente bien hecho: los colores, los movimientos, los detalles… se percibe un trabajo hecho por personas sumamente talentosas. Hay momentos en qué no se siente una película animada, que a primera vista sientes que es un ambiente real, y que me hiciera sentir eso es estupendo. Son películas que siempre recomendaría, porque no decepcionan, todas agregan algo valioso a tu vida.

Y mi cosa favorita de la animación es el castillo de Howl, tanto por dentro como por fuera, es alucinante.

Something that characterizes Studio Ghibli films is their wonderful animation, in general, everything is incredibly well done: the colors, the movements, the details... you can perceive a work done by extremely talented people. There are moments when it doesn't feel like an animated movie, that at first sight you feel it's a real environment, and that it made me feel that is great. They're movies that I would always recommend, because they don't disappoint, they all add something valuable to your life.

And my favorite thing about the animation is Howl's castle, both inside and out, it's mind-blowing.

Toda la última escena me hace llorar cada vez que la veo, me deja un sentimiento tan bonito en el pecho, de alegría y esperanza, que es inevitable no emocionarse cada vez.

Me parece una película hermosa, como la mayoría de las películas del Studio Ghibli. Todas te dejan una enseñanza, y aquí sin duda nos demuestra el poder del amor, tanto para una pareja, como para tus familiares y amigos, y también para ti mismo. La importancia de amar con el corazón abierto, sin barreras, proteger a esa persona y acompañarlo en la búsqueda de su bienestar; además, deja claro la maravilla de la aceptación, de verte en el espejo y querer a la persona que ves, de ver a quiénes te rodean y aceptarlos, amarlos, a pesar de sus defectos.

Son casi dos horas que se pasan muy rápido, en dónde te enamoras y te identificas con los personajes, y terminas deseando dar tu corazón a una buena causa.

The whole last scene makes me cry every time I watch it, it leaves such a beautiful feeling in my chest, of joy and hope, that it is inevitable not to get emotional every time.

I think it is a beautiful film, like most of Studio Ghibli's films. They all leave you with a lesson, and here it certainly shows us the power of love, both for a partner, as well as for your family and friends, and also for yourself. The importance of loving with an open heart, without barriers, protecting that person and accompanying them in the search for their well-being; it also makes clear the wonder of acceptance, of seeing yourself in the mirror and loving the person you see, of seeing those around you and accepting them, loving them, despite their flaws.

It's almost two hours that go by very quickly, where you fall in love and identify with the characters, and end up wanting to give your heart to a good cause.
