Review || ✨BELLEZA VERDADERA✨|| Korean Netflix series (2020) [ESP/ENG]

Hola mis queridos lectores de Hive y amantes del mundo cinematográfico ❤️ hoy les quiero compartir un nuevo dorama que mire hace poco en la plataforma de Netflix, y es que después que mire el primer y único k-drama a petición de mi mejor amiga que es muy fan de ese género, esta vez me animé a buscar otro ya que hay algo que no puedo negar y son sus cortas series a diferencia de otras que tardan muchos episodios, temporadas y aún así la historia nunca parece terminar, además que me encantan las emocionantes historias que desarrollan y sobre todo las actuaciones impecables, todo esto lo encontré en esta serie de que les hablo, por su puesto sin quitar su característico humor coreano que le quita tanto drama a la serie para que los que son fan no sufran tanto.

Hablando ahora sí del título que les comparto hoy, más allá del drama, las escenas tan emotivas o quizás otras que pasan lo ridículo, una de las tantas cosas que me llamó la atención de esta historia fueron los temas que manejaron y mostraron crudamente pero que no están fuera de la realidad, entre ellas el bullying, y el impacto que esto puede tener en la población cuando estás personas que son víctimas sobre pasan los límites llegando incluso al suicidio. Y así como estos más temas que se tocan en esta linda historia que muestra una triste realidad en dónde la belleza exterior importa más que la interior, y solo viviendo de las apariencias se logra tener popularidad y éxito a dónde vayas, es eso o quizás ser diferente le molesté a los demás, aunque eso al final no nos debería de importar, pero en un mundo de abusones y aprovechados la tarea se vuelve más complicada de lo que parece.

La historia al principio nos muestra a la protagonista Lim Ju-kyung (Moon Ga-young) se nuestra con una apariencia "fea", con acné, lentes grandes, cabello recogido, lo cual la hace ser tímida en su instituto, y por supuesto como era de esperarse, carnada para los abusadores quienes se aprovechan de ella para hacerle bullying con su apariencia. Siendo la burla de todo el instituto y aprovechando algunos problemas económicos que atraviesa su familia, ellos, sobre todo su madre, deciden mudarse a su antiguo pueblo, incluyendo una oportunidad para Lim Ju-kyung de empezar de cero en una nueva escuela, lo que la lleva a pensar en cambiar de imagen y no volver a ser el hazme reír de todos sus compañeros, y cuál fue su solución? El maquillaje, después de varios intentos haciéndola parecer en otra persona, con una linda apariencia, aunque en el fondo ella sepa que es solo una máscara para ocultar su verdadero rostro, el que ella considera feo por todas las inseguridades que le generaron las burlas en su antiguo colegio. A mitad de la historia ella conoce a un chico muy atractivo Lee Soo-ho (Cha Eun-woo), quién al principio parece ignorarla aún con su nuevo cambio de look, pero después descubría que tienen más cosas en común de lo que imaginaban, solitario y misterioso, quien más adelante también sabremos que esconde un triste y doloroso pasado, por otro lado estarán sus nuevas amigas que también a pesar de pertenecer a una familia de buena posición y tener un gran atractivo natural, guardan en su corazón algo que los atormenta dejándonos ver una gran reflexión que el estatus y la fama no quitan las inseguridades y problemas internos tanto con las apariencias como con la personalidad.

Hello my dear readers of Hive and lovers of the cinematic world ❤️ today I want to share with you a new dorama that I recently watched on the Netflix platform, and after watching the first and only k-drama at the request of my best friend who is a big fan of this genre, this time I decided to look for another one because there is something that I can not deny and that is its short series unlike others that take many episodes, seasons and yet the story never seems to end, plus I love the exciting stories that develop and especially the impeccable performances, all this I found in this series of which I speak, of course without removing its characteristic Korean humor that takes away so much drama to the series so that those who are fans do not suffer so much.

Talking now about the title that I share with you today, beyond the drama, the emotional scenes or perhaps others that pass the ridiculous, one of the many things that caught my attention of this story were the issues that were handled and shown crudely but not out of reality, including bullying, and the impact this can have on the population when these people who are victims overpass the limits even reaching suicide. And as well as these more issues that are touched in this beautiful story that shows a sad reality where the outer beauty matters more than the inner, and only living on appearances is achieved to have popularity and success wherever you go, it is that or maybe being different bothered others, although that in the end we should not care, but in a world of bullies and profiteers the task becomes more complicated than it seems.

The story opens with the protagonist Lim Ju-kyung (Moon Ga-young) being "ugly" in appearance, with acne, big glasses, and her hair pulled back, which makes her shy at her high school, and of course, as expected, bait for bullies who take advantage of her appearance to bully her. Being the mockery of the whole school and taking advantage of some economic problems that her family is going through, they, especially her mother, decide to move to her old town, including an opportunity for Lim Ju-kyung to start from scratch in a new school, which leads her to think about changing her image and not to be the laughing stock of all her classmates, and what was her solution? Makeup, after several attempts making her look like someone else, with a nice appearance, although deep down she knows that it is just a mask to hide her real face, which she considers ugly for all the insecurities that generated the teasing in her old school. In the middle of the story she meets a very attractive guy Lee Soo-ho (Cha Eun-woo), who at first seems to ignore her even with her new look change, but then she discovers that they have more in common than they imagined, lonely and mysterious, who later we will also know that he hides a sad and painful past, On the other hand will be her new friends who also despite belonging to a family of good position and have a great natural attraction, keep in their hearts something that torments them leaving us to see a great reflection that status and fame do not remove the insecurities and internal problems with both appearances and personality.

I really liked this series and like few others it also made me suffer for seeing how cruel acts of some people can be towards others who believe they are weak because of their appearance or some unattractive trait, causing more damage than they imagine, a sad reality that is not only seen in Korea but around the world, especially in this stage of adolescence, where many of us are mentally and emotionally vulnerable. My score for this movie would be a 9 out of 10.
