Leofinance have decided to suspend the topauthors initiative due to the issue with polls not working on threads, and also "to evaluate the results from last year, in terms of engagement and growth, to see how to proceed this 2024". This is understandable.

The feedback on the initiative to date from the members of the Saturday Savers Club was very positive, so we have decided to continue with a similar initiative to support club members. We will continue to select 4 posts from savers each week and highlight those in a post on the @eddie-earner account under the title savers of the week. The authors of the 4 selected will receive 15% each of the post payout (maintaining the status quo). 20% will go to the @eddie-earner account, and 20% to myself (@hoosie) for curating and producing the post.

The aim will be very similar - to select great content and highlight that to a wider audience here on the Hive Blockchain. But unlike the top authors initiative, we wont share those posts beyond the Hive Blockchain.

Additionally, we will aim to ensure, as we have always done, that the selection across the members is as fair as it can be so that everyone will get highlighted, and not just the same few people each week.

Saturday Savers Club is for anyone who wants to save in any currency for any purpose. The Club is a supportive group of people who meet up around the weekly post, usually on a Saturday but occasionally on a Sunday, to share tips and techniques and have some fun in the process.

Saving is a skill that takes time and practice to acquire and, like learning any skill, doesn't always go the way you planned. Saturday Savers Club provides a framework that you can use to help you on your way, as well as tips and a process to provide or support the skills you need to design and manage your own savings plan.
