Buenos Dias on another happy day of work

Wow there is so much to do I sometimes get philosophical about it. But each day we are a little more experienced and prepared than the last.

We are in the new moon time of cleaning our bamboo grove, without the moon the bamboo cannot photosynthesize at night and all the water drains out of them, leaving the bamboo dry and more resistant to pests that might want to eat those sugars.

We cleaned out the grove in preparation for this, so there are much less sharp spikes and spines awaiting us at work.

Although we are entering into the rainy season, the weather has been pretty good, we are getting some sun each day and taking advantage to clean up our crops and our lots keep the farm looking great.

I have become aware of the current economic situation through my workers, the money is drying up, people need money. I feel like I have learned a lot about economics just by living and working on the edge of society, in a small, geographically isolated region close to the Earth.

Learning about land use, and actively developing and promoting newer and better land use models is exactly what is going to get us through these difficult times. When people worriedly ask me, 'what's going to happen?', I tell them we are going to be okay, we grow food.

The day the world ends, I'll be ready to rest, until then I'll keep working and planting and trying to make my small corner a better, healthier place to live.

Here's some rare footage of the sun rise from Líbano, rare because I don't often stay out all night, but I took the opportunity to sing and play guitar recently with some friends, and had lots of good and important conversations along the way.

The reality is what we make of it, keep your spirits high, have a goal in mind, and help create the future we want to see!
