The Beauty of Weekends: A Personal Reflection
Hi friends, first of all, a big thank you to @alt-runner for the gift.
You must have heard that lovely saying, “There are Better Days to Come; They are Called Saturday and Sunday.”
It is a nice reminder of the excitement and joy that weekends bring. I can’t agree more with what it means.
Amidst the busy schedule of weekdays, we look forward to those two most blessed days – Saturday and Sunday.
They represent freedom and rest, giving us a chance to take a break from our daily routines.
For me, weekends are like not just taking time out during the madness that is life; they provide an opportunity for me to be in touch with myself and my family.
Time off work for example allows one not only to relax but also concentrate on things that make them happy rather than other people.
The weekend is seen as a time to get excited about new things but also have a peaceful feeling. This is therefore a moment to unwind, take pleasure in small things and admire surroundings that are so beautiful.
Picture waking up on Saturday morning with sunlight filtering in through the curtains of your room and breathing in fresh air.
There is peace in the atmosphere; you feel satisfied. It is such moments that remind me to live for now and thank god for simple life.
Without good food and good company, the weekends would be incomplete.
Whether it’s eating together with your family or meeting friends over a cup of tea, there is something that brings us all closer to one another, through which our children grow up and we never forget them.
Of course, let us also not overlook the pleasure of participating in our favourite things.
This could be getting lost in a good book; going for a leisurely walk in the park or attempting a new recipe on weekends that offer an opportunity to recharge and get rejuvenated.
But by Sunday evening, I am always filled with mixed feelings. Even though I feel grateful for having had time to rejuvenate myself over this past weekend, I still feel a little sad because my weekend has come to an end.
However, with Monday on its way, I am comforted by the fact that the mood of the weekend will persist.
The cheerfulness and affection it gives me will make me face all my weekly challenges reminding me to be thankful and joyful each time.
In summary, weekends do not only provide an escape from routine. They are also a tribute to life’s minor joys, as well as a reminder to value essential moments in life.
Therefore, here’s to weekends… those two mystical days that are filled with laughter, rejuvenation and finding ourselves again. There is indeed light at the end of this tunnel; Saturday and Sunday are what they call them.
congrats on winning the contest. nad yeah, often times weekend are an integral part of our life, giving a break from our daily routine, a time for us to pamper ourself.
