AGE DOESN'T REALLY COUNT: MATURITY COMES FROM A MINDSET

Hi Everyone! It's the weekly featured contents for Week 112:- Edition 02:-.And the topic given out to be discussed is "The Ideal Adult Age."

Brown Minimalist Casual Fashion Collection Presentation.jpg

At what age does one stop being a minor in your country?

Well,in my country, Nigeria,I don't think there's an age for someone to get to before he or she stops being a minor.

What I know that's more common is that the moment you're done with school, regardless of your age, you've become an independent person and not a minor anymore.

Many parents in my country, Nigeria, always believe they've done their best and render all the assistance they can render to you as their child the moment you're done with your education and service.

They always feel they've helped you push to a level of your life where you cannot be afraid again to face life and also become an independent person of your own, regardless of your age.

It is something that happens to many Nigerians. And then, at this point in your life, my dear, it's you against the world and not others.

What I feel about it.

Do you feel that it's too soon or too late?

Honestly, for me, I feel it's too soon because some of these people are fresh graduates, and not all of them can adapt quickly to the system of life.

And I'm literally speaking for the young ones, who were privileged to enter school on time and finish fast. They shouldn't be pushed out too fast.

Some of them should be given a little time to be able to know what's next and what steps to take next to avoid getting into wrong decisions and regrettable conclusions.

Because it's a new face of their lives, if they don't choose carefully, they might end up making their lives scattered in the near future.

Because some of them are under hard pressure and literally don't know anything about life yet. So I feel they should be given more time to meditate well.

Because it's their future at the end of the day. And if they end up making the wrong decision at the end of the day because of pressures from either parents, peer groups, etc., it might end up making their life miserable.

If it were up to you, what would be the right age? And why?

If it were to be me to decide, well, I think I'd give more time for the individual to brainstorm well about what he or she wants for themselves, regardless of the time.

Because it's a chronic situation. And any step being taken at that point is advised to be taken with a full chest.

So yes, I'd give the individual some time to discover themselves and know what they really want for themselves, regardless, to avoid further problems in the future.

Because I feel that at that point, he or she should be able to identify what they want for themselves and how they want to spend the rest of their lives.

And then, does age really matter when it comes to maturity?

As they'd always say,age is just a number. Because I've seen lots of older people who are just mature by the sound of their age but aren't really mature-minded.

I believe maturity comes from the mind and mentality of a person and not from the number of years the person has spent on earth.

So for me, I'd say maturity comes from the mind set of a person, not the numbers.

Thank you for taking the time to go through my content, and I hope you've had lots of amazing moments in this community and have learned lots of lessons from it's weekly prompt.

When we are responsible for all the people, we forget to laugh and this is the effort to fulfill this responsibility by working hard day and night, then a person becomes mature.

Maturity truly comes from a person's mindset, I gave so many scenarios that makes me agree with that. I also think that the pressure put on young people is influenced by the society. They have set ideal ages for everything, when infact, people should be allowed to do things at their own pace.

Exactly!!!
The pressure is another thing to talk about.
They should be free to do their things honestly.

Thank you for stopping by❤️

Hello there, friend. I'm not completely writing your opinion off, but here’s what I think: I don’t think the transition to adult age is too soon. Here in Nigeria, you become an adult (legally) when you turn 18. I think 18 is just right and the experiences people have by then are already sufficient.

Hello teacher.
Thank you for stopping by
It's really good to have you here honestly.

About the age of 18, it's suppose to been like that on a normal day in the country, but the truth is, it's not really common in our country Nigeria.

If it were to be other countries like the United States Of American, And the rest of it.

I'd have agreed to this with a full chest.

But in the country Nigeria, it's really hard for you to find people become independent at the age of 18.

It's really really rare.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
It's a pleasure to have you here teacher.

At 18, a person is an adult in Nigeria. I don't assume that it's all too soon because in itself, it has nothing to do witg the individual's emotional intelligence and maturity. It's just right that at that age, the individual has been thought the basics of what they need to know about life especially surrounding civic rules, enough to guide them and that, they can now make decisions for themselves and be held accountable for their flaws. What is more?

I believe that maturity is acquired in two ways: either through education and teachings, or through challenges in life and family support, this directly impacts "coming of age."
