Cityscape Photography During the Carnival Parade in Lhokseumawe City, Indonesia
Every year when the Indonesian nation commemorates Indonesia's independence day on August 17 1945, a day later there is a grand parade called a carnival, this is an activity that walks around the city streets which is attended by various schools, from elementary schools to high schools, At this carnival event, all participants wear different clothes, including traditional clothes and also several other unique clothes.
Lhokseumawe is the city where I currently live, here I live and here I work, this is a small city in the Aceh area, here there are no buildings that rise high into the sky, unlike my hometown in Medan, Indonesia, there the buildings or structures are towering very high.
First, let's look at some pictures of the city's crowds when these participant (students) walked around the city :
Look at the enthusiasm of the visitors who participated in enlivening the event as they stood in an orderly manner in the hot sun to watch the carnival event. You can also see the police there keeping traffic orderly so that there are no long traffic jams and also maintaining the safety of the parade participants who take part in the carnival event :
Also look at the monument in one of the areas located at the 4-way intersection city roundabout, the monument bears the Bank Aceh logo and there is a clock there, so the locals named this road Simpang Jam (clock intersection):
All the photos I am sharing this time were taken on August 19 2023, two days after the anniversary of Indonesia's independence, namely on Saturday, because Friday is the day for Muslims to congregate at the mosque in the afternoon so this parade or carnival event was held two days after Independence Day. All the photos I shared this time were taken using a Nikon D7200 camera and using a KIT 18-14Omm lens, and went through the editing process using the Adobe Lightroom application, I hope you enjoy them :)
