The Unexpected Invitation: Pic1000
Tonight was different. Tonight she felt a thrill she hadn't experienced in years since she last met with Fred. Rose held the glass cup slightly loosed as she walked magnetically into the hall. Why Bridget had invited her to the show on short notice baffled her. Her dress of ambers left glittering reflections across the room as she walked to the bartender with her drink held up high. She took a sip of her drink, and allowed her eyes to travel around the large hall, a spark ignited within her a memory of time when her life was a whirlwind of parties, laughter , and the thrill of the chase. She was still reminiscing when she caught eyes with a man across the room, his gaze fixed on her all the while.
"Fred?" She mumbled. Suddenly her face grew red, she could only hope Bridget had not invited her here for this purpose. She looked away and proceeded to make her way through the door when Bridget showed up.
"Leaving?" She asked.
"Why did you invite me here?" She asked in a harsh tone.
"To free the inhibition that had held you down for years since Fred left you" she responded.
Rose sighs, relieved Fred's presence was a coincidence.
"Are you sure you didn't invite me to reunite with him?" She asked, dabbing her eyes to show where Fred was standing.
"No, not at all. Let's go have a good time"
Fred approached them with a confident smile playing on his lips. Rose met his eyes and wondered why his charm still works on her. The only way to resist him was to allow herself to play along. Tonight she'll dance, she will let the music and the moment carry her away. Tonight, she'll live once again, but this time, not with Fred. With the people who had always stood by her, with Bridget.
I like the fact that despite Fred charms she didn't go back to him. There are some relationships you have to let go for your peace of mind and well being
That's true. What once caused you harm is likely to do that again
