The Issue With Trust

avatar

At a point in life we have been betrayed by someone we trusted. It happens in almost every area of life, starting with the trivial misleading by parents to children, up to the government who makes promises without fulfilling them. At a point the promises became a common strategy to win the hearts of people and again they failed to keep to the promises made until we no longer bother to believe whatever promises they make. A man or lady who promises forever breaks those promises when he/she perceives something better. Promises and breaking promises are seen to go in a circle and are gradually becoming a trend.

Anyone who had once been betrayed by someone they trusted in the past usually finds it difficult to trust. Once in our life we were innocent and trusted so easily until our trust was shattered once or twice and this changed our perspective about people and trusting in general. There are several times I have trusted people and most often my trust for them is betrayed. They always come with an appearance that looks genuine, real, and a spirit that makes their words sound true but at the end, it seems to be the same pattern of falsehood.

Their appearance is the same with which others come and this makes us perceive everyone to be the same. Trusting has become difficult because it's difficult to distinguish between who's true or false. The false people also come as a lamb, the same appearance in which the truthful one's come. In order to stay safe people had guarded themselves by not trusting anyone and preferred to use the "No Trust" as a defense against heartbreak and sudden turn of events. People who had suffered from trusting also often find it hard to trust anyone again. We are humans and vulnerable to mistakes , no one should completely be trusted in their human nature and this calls for caution.

Trust takes time to build, but a minute to lose it all and once it's lost it's hard to regain. Some have had direct experience of betrayal, others heard stories of others who were betrayed, and some were advised against trust. In response to these, people put up a defense by not trusting anyone to avoid an unseen implication or suffer the same thing others suffered from trusting.

What makes this really sad is that we always have this issue with people whom we thought could never betray us. such an irony of life.

Just as you've rightly pointed out, once broken, it can never be fixed back up, just like broken glass.

This is because when you put too much trust in someone and they break it , it's difficult to find another way to trust again and you know once beaten will not allow it again.

You get betrayed once and you will find it very difficult to trust again.

My trust was betrayed and I think I had blood pressure. But when our trusts are betrayed, it gives us the opportunity to bounce back stronger. We cannot remain in the pool of being betrayed. We have to rise and move on. Furthermore, I learnt that my trust should be kept with me. Aside from spouse and family, I find it hard to let my trust.

Funny that you had a blood pressure, but still giving out a little trust is safe

Honestly. It is really not a joke. It's one's life. Trust is very personal and when betrayed it is like loosing your hope. Life is just an irony.
