The Family's Christmas Plan

It is almost Christmas. The holiday season is mostly about family, fun and food. Everyone seems to be in a good mood. I want to have a wonderful Christmas, at least before I grow old. My name is Bimbo Rotimi, I'm 27 and an introvert. I had always celebrated Christmas indoors with my computer playing games but this year seems to come with a new spirit. I wanted to do something different. Maybe because I was tired of the regular way I celebrated Christmas or just maybe because everyone seemed happy this year. Bola, my younger sister winked at me and immediately followed with the question I was expecting all along
"What are you thinking?"
I turned to face her direction and for a minute I wondered whether to share my thoughts with her, but then snapped it off.
"So what's the family planning for this Christmas?" I asked. Everyone looked in my direction with that surprised look. Yes , I know it was strange, unlike me , but change is constant.

I sat quietly listening to the numerous plans they had, how they intended to travel to the village to visit the family and attend the yearly festival celebration. It sounded good to me, it was indeed a moment to visit my hometown and learn more about my culture while we shared in the love of the season with relatives.
"It's indeed a good plan, I'll be traveling along"
"There's no light in the village, this means you wouldn't be having your computer games to play" mum said, trying to warn me ahead of time.
"I know, I wouldn't need that this year"
I could see her countenance brighten up, she had always wanted me to join in the joy of the festival but all her effort had seemed fruitless and here I was , with no persuasion desiring to travel home for the festival.

Bola couldn't stop to tell me the places we'd visit if we got to the village and how the festival had always been fun with the masquerades which came out to dance in groups. "You'll need your cardigan and an extra sweatshirt because the weather is cold in the village," She added.
While we packed our luggages and a few stuff we would be needing during our stay, dad and mum separated the ones she had kept for us and the ones she had kept for our relatives and friends.
"It's the season of love, and there's no better time to do it than now," they said. I couldn't wait to have the best of Christmas ever.

This is a positive change for you Bimbo. I can imagine ht efamily were overjoyed to have you join in with the traditions by your own free will. I can feel Bola's happiness. It seems as though you will have that fun christmas you dream of before your grow old and also create some nice family bonds and memories.

I wanted to know how Rotomi coped in the village without electricity....
It's always a depressing moment to live in a village without electricity. It sucks💔

I wonder what really made Bimbo to have a change of mind this Christmas but I can tell that he's going to enjoy it, having his younger sister around who was ready to tell him everything he doesn't know about the village.
