Summer In Las Vegas

In the early month of June, the blue sky was dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted lazily in the gentle breeze. Dera couldn't contain her joy knowing she was traveling to Las Vegas for the summer break. The just-risen sun shone softly on the city streets, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity. A smile flickered across her face like a hologram as she neatly folded the clothes she'll be needing in her small echolac bag . She surfed through the internet to learn about their food and read through the reviews. She had earlier learned Las Vegas has one of the tastiest foods and couldn't wait to eat the delicacies.

Dera had a novel on her lap, she held it up trying to check the author's name then stare at the wall clock, the time seemed to be moving too slow, it had been like hours sitting yet the time had barely shifted. She closed the book and hopes to continue reading while on the vacation.

She groaned when the first beam of sunlight hit her face. She immediately crawled out of her bed and walked to the bathroom humming happily, the day at last. She had learned the flight was leaving by 10Am and had woken up as early as 7 Am alerted by the morning alarm.
While on the plane she picked up her novel and continued reading, this was to keep her busy while she enjoyed the flight. She had come with her diary to write in detail to her friends how she spent the summer holiday in Las Vegas.

The beach in Las Vegas was quite different from the ones in her country. The blue and clear waters, the decorated beach chairs , the coconut drinks, and the games. While the blazing midday sun shone relentlessly, the cold air from the trees made the atmosphere much more conducive. Dera joined the swimmers and later sat on the beach chair to read. Beside her chair were meals they've ordered from a hotel, and they were indeed tasty. The experience was something she held onto dearly, it was the first time she let go of the fear to swim, and play among crowds, she had always been the indoor girl. She couldn't wait to share all these with her friends, how summer was fun in Las Vegas.
