When did James Whitehouse break up with the relationship?
On the 5th of October, I didn't want it to end because I was in love with him.
The story in the anatomy of a scandal is centres around a rape or an alleged rape. A guy called James Whitehouse who is a junior minister and a best friend with the prime minister Tom James Whitehouse was accused of raping researcher Olivia. It transpires that he James white has a history of infidelity, and at a point Olivia called rape soon after James dumped her and finished the relationship. Kate one of the leading barrister in the UK focuses her life around prosecuting rape scandal- she's very much into getting justice for women and believes Olivia was raped by James but can she convinced the jury? That became the challenge in the anatomy of the scandal.
The truth is Miss Litton, there was no journey from yes to no in that list because you only ever said yes to Mr White House- his lawyer claimed.
She further gave her point by saying
Anger and humiliation should not have the power to convert consensual sex into rape.
In a courtroom, one of the clients is lying , and the lawyers are there to determine the truth. The movie Anatomy of a Scandal presents a family at the verge of breaking up, the pain from infidelity, women defending what they believe in, Sophie, James' wife not knowing whether to believe her husband while Kate ensures that justice is done for a woman.
I'm not a lawyer, I can only dissect the movie from a layman's way. The case in this movie is a life event, it happens in reality where one partner accuses their lover of a rape to cover up the shame, pain, and humiliation of breaking up. The lawyers side with their opponent to ensure justice or to ensure that their client suffers less punishment. I like the fact that two very good friends could keep the relationship aside and debate like they never came across each other. Even within a lie, facts are fetched and the truth is twisted
The movie tries to bring out the structure in which a scandal could be approached. Kate trying to save herself from the shame, James Whitehouse trying to save his family. A little act of infidelity turning his life into a mess as he struggles to save his family and reputation. I dare you to watch the movie Anatomy Of A Scandal and not be moved to give it a Five star.
