Escape routes

(Edited)

Hello friends!

A thought comes to mind in another #ThoughtfulDailyPost or rather a question: Have you ever felt like escaping?
Feeling that we can't take it anymore, or that we want to change, go far away, break with the routine, stop thinking. Because at times we get tired of the real present, and we dream of something changing...

Surely at some point in your life you will have wanted to change certain things, many or even everything. The job position could possibly be one of them. Sitting in the office, staring at the screen, doing some task in automatic mode while feeling like your mind is traveling far, thinking fast and wishing badly that you were somewhere else.

There will be thousands of reasons why you have already decided that you do not want to continue there, or perhaps just one, but in any case, we must avoid that this situation makes us feel unhappy day in and day out, without further ado.

For this type of case, you will have read or heard an infinite number of tips and recommendations to motivate yourself, recycle or reinvent yourself and get going, in search of your new goal. Very well, you know that you will have to move, do something different to achieve that dream, be constant and persevere, it's worth it... but for now, you're still there. What happens if there is no way to reinvent yourself?

During that period between starting to assume situations and making decisions, it is not necessary (or recommended) to think only and repeatedly in what we do not like, we will only make ourselves feel more frustrated and anxious, and thus it is more difficult to calm down and focus on finding the solution.

During those moments, it is good to observe, rationalize and analyze those small details around us that sometimes go unnoticed. It is about seeing the positive side, that is, what small things we find positive about that place where we have to be. Is the location good and we get there easily? Value it because today it is not easy. Do you like to go before to have a drink at the bar on the corner? A smile or a little chat over coffee can clear our heads or give us a bit of calm and disconnection, take advantage of it. And so, anything else you discover near you.

If you are lucky enough to have nice colleagues or if you have a bit of free time, do something you like, you don't have to sign up for an intensive course on anything if you don't want to or can't, just take a walk around that such a beautiful nearby park, go see something you like, organize an informal meeting with those persons if possible...

Nor can you forget other important details, depending on what you do, you will always have that added value in your life not only in your resume, that interesting contact or new idea, or that unique experience that can make you stand out in another later project. That will go with you wherever you decide to go.

If you simply have bad days, which can be anywhere, do not let anger take you, breathe, go out and go around the block or have a coffee with that trusted colleague, call your best friend, to your partner or your mother… Let the anger or anxiety pass, after a day or two look at the problem from different perspectives, with a positive attitude, for your own good. And above all, do not take it home, then disconnect and as we said before, look for that little bit of time, personal and non-transferable.

If the environment is really very bad, and you feel really bad, in those cases in which the situation affects deeply, you have to decide what to do. Of course, it is better not to create more drama (you are not a soap opera scriptwriter), leave the emotions and try to rationalize it, focus on your list of pros and cons. It will be better to see "your problem" as an important challenge to overcome than as one more misfortune that we have to suffer in life.

And in a moment of crisis, if everything overwhelms you, visualize that last day, the farewell. Sometimes you also have to know how far to go and when to leave, defy uncertainty and fear, yes, take risks... without trying anything new it is difficult to know if it will be worth it. It's not about giving up like crazy or giving up like a failed person, no. It is about moving to another stage, improving and growing to another level, also internally.

Ah, don't forget, learn to value what you find along the way, then you will appreciate any detail, you will see those differences between what you had and what you have achieved. Everything works somehow, although in bad times it is difficult for us to see it.

Do not fear, trust, especially in you. Listen to yourself, honestly. But also talk to people you really care about, find out what you really want, breathe, walk, think, reflect and meditate... who are you? what do you want? Take the time you need, you may have to make decisions, in due course... What would you be willing to leave behind? To what extent would you change your life?

Sometimes those questions are hard to get an answer, but I guess that's the key, and sometimes it will take time and patience to find those answers, it will be a personal process... an maybe it starts with something simple or maybe not that simple: know yourself, be happy and

I think this is one is most challenging for most. Well I think it may be something that may not disappear. It could be dealt with just be being positive, keeping busy, not dwelling on it so much, and somehow accepting it in way that it's for the betterment for something else.

Yes I agree... that's not easy absolutely even when you are aware of it, we are emotional, full of feelings that not always are easy to understand and control. But as all in life, maybe it's a matter of practice and being more conscious of everything, another life lesson but just feeling as a victim of life definitively doesn't help. So let's see all in a different way, maybe better... Happy Tuesday!

Yes we can't fall to becoming a victim. We have to figure out ways to not stay a victim as well if we do fall.

Happy Tuesday to you. My start to the week after an American federal holiday :)
